ah, yes. I almost forgot about that. I think your wording is slightly incorrect though. I believe its just "Gunpowder Treason and Plot" not "the . . . ", and I believe it goes "I see no reason . . ." not "I know of no reason . . .".
Remember remember the 5th of November!
The Gunpowder Treason and Plot!
I know of no reason why the Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot!

Yeah, I remember the 5th of November for being the day that Doc Brown invented time travel.

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.
oh yeah! I had forgotten that too! I just realized, we are only six five four three two one zero years away from the future seen in BTTF part 2!
Well, you had me wondering if I had remembered it wrong, but Wikipedia seems to agree with me:

hmm, looks like there are multiple variations on the rhyme. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guy_Fawkes_Night
I'm kind of partial to this one.

I always thought it odd that Samhain was hijacked by both Christianity (with Halloween) and British politics in relation to religion (with Bonfire Night).
It used to be such a harmless celebration of the death of the sun and the end of the harvest, Goddess Bless America for reminding us of the fun aspects of the season and helping us Brits move away from the distasteful "Burn A Catholic Night" aspects of the celebration.
Living in central Scotland where sectarianism is still an uncomfortable reality I wish people would forget the fifth of November and have a jolly good time dressing up and burning things at the end of October instead.
Now where did I put that Silver Shamrock mask?
Burn a Catholic Night? I didn't realize Britain had one of those.
It's such a chore to actually find a Catholic to burn.... Sometimes I question whether it's worth all of that effort.
But who am I kidding, once they start to burn it's all totaly worth it.

the only Catholics I would consider burning are those Priests who molested children.
A belated Happy Guy Fawkes 2010!
I was on holiday at home with my kids (the wife's birthday is on the 4th and she went out to lunch with her sister) and didn't come to the forums.
Hope you burned some Catholics!

You're supposed to toss 'em in the bay, dummy.

I think it's funny a religious terrorist like Fawkes has become a bizarre icon of freedom to some people (laregly based on the comic book). I wonder if he and Che Guevara are giggling together in hell.
