Yeah, I think Glover should do fine. I wasn’t impressed with him in The Martian, but i like him in everything else i have seen (Community, Atlanta).

Haven’t seen Glover in much be he’s obviously talented and, most importantly, I trust Lord and Miller. For people worried about continuity, I think the best way to approach this is to not really think about that like they’re playing the exact same people. I’m actually really excited for this. Should be a very fun film about some of my favorite characters, who happen to be played by new people (with likely new interpretations). It worked with Star Trek, should work here. I’d rather the actors embody the spirit of Han and Lando rather than just be exact copies of HF and BDW.

Who even is she?

Some actress in an HBO fantasy TV series everyone and their mother talks about but which I have no interest in ever watching.

Your loss. But eh. She’s not very talented but I find her likable enough. I just hope she wasn’t cast for the role that several black actresses were rumored for a little while back, because that would kill the Sana Starros theory and I’d love to see her in this.

Speaking of casting…

…eughhh.

Not only is she currently the weakest link on an otherwise fantastic show, she also looks exactly like Felicity Jones? I don’t know. We’ll see. Still hopeful.

I heard the news earlier tonight on imdb not two minutes after learning Carice van Houten played Leni Riefenstahl (perfect casting) in the Jesse Owens biopic.

I’m actually more excited about this than Episode VIII, though that might change the closer we get to it. I really hope it doesn’t take itself very seriously, and is just a one off adventure with a younger, less refined Han. I also hope they show him meeting Chewie or Lando, and I would also like to see him making the Kessel run in 12 parsecs.

Not enough people read the EU.

I think this will be a movie adaptation of Shadows of the Empire.

And the bloke Slated to be cast as Han-Solo will be Dash Rendar.

I am probably 100% wrong but it would be better to go for that era and follow that Story perhaps?

I don’t think things like the Kessel run make a movie or how Han got the Falcon keep him in Carbonite I say…

Quite like Dash nothing like Han…

Wait, let me get this straight, you think a movie called “Han Solo” will feature the titular character in carbonate for the length of its runtime?

I think it’s perhaps wishful thinking rather than, actually what I think…

Dash Rendar was created to replace Han Solo while he was in Carbonite and it’s actually not a bad idea.

His Ship is in Star Wars and another one now so he’s definitely about the galaxy.

+Glover looks the right age to play Lando at the time of Return of the Jedi.

I will only except Shadow of the Empire into canon if they replace Dash with mercenary Kyle Katarn.

A Russel Crowe from the year 2000 …

f

… would have been a great Dash Rendar … imo.

Rogue One is redundant. Just play the first mission of DARK FORCES.

Woody Harrelson Eyed to Play Han Solo’s Mentor in ‘Star Wars’ Spinoff

After playing a mentor to Katniss Everdeen in “The Hunger Games” franchise, Woody Harrelson might help guide another iconic character’s journey.

Sources tell Variety that, while talks are still in the early stages, Harrelson is the top choice to play Han Solo’s mentor in the upcoming “Star Wars” spinoff starring Alden Ehrenreich.

Donald Glover and Emilia Clarke also star, with Phil Lord and Chris Miller directing. Disney had no comment.

The movie will be set prior to “Star Wars: A New Hope,” like the other “Star Wars” standalone project, “Rogue One,” which hit theaters on Dec. 16.

Kathleen Kennedy and Allison Shearmur are producing the spinoff film, which is expected to begin production in January. The movie is slated to hit theaters on May 25, 2018. Harrelson and Shearmur have close ties from their work on “The Hunger Games,” when Shearmur was overseeing the project for Lionsgate.

The ensemble has already begun filling with rising stars, but executives wanted this role to go to an actor with considerable clout, and started meeting with actors over the past several weeks.

The first “Star Wars Story,” “Rogue One,” has set the bar high. Along with overwhelmingly positive reviews, it has grossed more than $800 million worldwide, and is still in theaters.

In the past year, Harrelson has kept busy, appearing in the cop drama “Triple Nine,” “Now You See Me 2,” “LBJ,” and “The Edge of Seventeen.”

The coming year looks just as busy, with “The Glass Castle” opposite Brie Larson, “Wilson,” and the highly anticipated “War of the Planet of the Apes,” in which he plays the new antagonist. He is repped by CAA.

Really not a fan of this idea.

Personally, I think the best fit for this role would be Perry King. How fantastic would it be, to have a former Han Solo mentoring the new one?

Does Han even need a mentor? I’m really not excited for this, the only saving graces (IMO, of course) are Donald Glover and the directors.

Well, Han strikes me as a sort of Gatsby character. I think probably he’ll have a mentor that dies under very violent circumstances.

Violent as in lesson-learning trauma you don’t speak about. Not violent as in sad-stuff-you-remember-all-day

Can’t stand Woody Harrelson. I just see Cheers whenever I see him. No thanks.

I like him but I can’t see him in a Star Wars movie. Reference: Samuel L. Jackson.
