It is the original 1980 International Three Sheet. As the name suggests the three sheets are normally approximately 3 times the size of the most common used poster, called a one sheet.

Thanks, never seen it before.

Nice one, zeppelinrox.

LexX, there was also an similar International Six Sheet version of it:

Cool, thanks. I'd really love to collect SW posters but there's waay too many of them. I guess I have to continue collecting them in digital form. :P

Does anyone have Jung's artwork without the droids? Like in this one:

Also if anyone has decent scans or photos of Super 8 and 16 mm boxes, I'd be interested. :)

I am also looking for it, but have not had any luck so far. :( It's my personal holy grail in SW-artwork. ;)

What's interesting is that the droids were actually added by comic book artist Nick Cardy, apparently he also added little details to the other characters, the same last minute touch-ups were also made on Jung's half-sheet, don't know if it was from the same uncredited artist on that though, they look quite different, and IMO don't fit with Jung's art at all. The original half-sheet art is on the cover of the 1977 theater-program, I will scan it someday.

The Hildebrandts were also told by Lucas to add the droids on their Tom Jung variant in the last minute, that one I have though.

If you don't find it, maybe a little photoshopping will suffice, but it doesn't feel right. ;)

That's interesting, I hadn't notice that before. Or about the Hildebrandts' either. I also have that one with and without droids and didn't even notice it LOL. I also have the original half sheet art but it's badly cropped. But you can clearly see they've removed a lot of stars and added the droids.

But that Super 8 was the first time I actually saw the droidless style A version used.

Yeah, I'm quite surprised it was used on a Super 8 cover, it was mostly used in early publicity ads etc, you have the droidless artwork in Rinzler's Making of SW, unfortunately it's too small.

Although not poster art, still could be useful:

Cool find!!

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

I apologize if I'm cramming up this thread with stuff people don't want...BUT, here's one more. The Star Wars Circus poster sans text.

Is this even a real version or has someone just messed around with it? It doesn't have much color outside the circle and the suns are white.

It definitely looks custom made, I may be wrong though.

HERE's an image of the original on Drew Struzan's own website. So, the one above is just a badly scanned and color-"corrected" version (presumable scanned from one of Struzan's artbooks).

EDIT
Here's an equally crappy snapshot I just took from my "The Movie Posters of Drew Struzan" (which is absolute worth picking up):

Found this, never seen it before, if I did I don't remember it. Could be a cool DVD cover if somebody had a biggun'.

Okay, I found it and uploaded it to imageshack.

It is a bit small. I think it might have been either comic art or lunch box art, either of which I never collected much. It would make a cool DVD cover, knowing how lacking ROTJ is for art.

Hi, everyone. (I'll try to deliver my best english!)

I came on this website by looking for those "unframed" version of the 1997 special edition posters. I know the french Delcourt comics have it but I can't find any hi-res of those. If someone here have it or have the possibility to do scans, I will be lasting grateful if he could post 'em.

Thanks

Me too. Those are the ones used on VHS covers, I'd like to get these.

This thread = win

"Changing classic movies at all is just wrong." Puggo

"HA, Ha, you r ghey" was probably a hilariously insulting comment in Elementary and Middle School, but its not cooly insulting anymore and its certainly not funny: it makes people who say it look like, well, an "inbred monkey." TheSessler

"I'm still %20 the wiser. It amused me that after doing a google image search for "The Final Milf" the second picture is Roger Delgado followed by lots and lots of porn." Bingowings
