Does anyone have 70s and 80s SW poster art without any texts or logos? Would be very helpful!

And in the time of greatest despair, there shall come a savior, and he shall be known as the Son of the Suns.

Satanika posted a big zip file with many of them. They have proven to be very helpful to me.

Well, there are many different posters and logos, is there something specific you're looking for?

I've updated my poster scan/photo collection, feel free to look there, also put up a few eps logos.

My SW posters (83mb)

SW .eps logos (2mb)

Supplement with ocp's posterbook scans.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

I think I already have those but there isn't much without texts, cropped out maybe.

I made a new poster for Adywan's Revisted trilogy. It is pretty basic, but I like it like that.

These things don't just fall out of the sky unfortunately..
Most sw hires scans seems to originate from one guy, klokwerk, and the posterbook scans by ocp.

I haven't seen a new scan in a long time.. A long, long time..

Here are the only REAL hires ANH posters I've come across, but it will likely be old hat for most who collects these things.

Anyone have any Ralph McQuarrie EMPIRE STRIKES BACK concept art?  I'd prefer the resolution be comparabe to 1400 pixels wide.  I have "The Art of The Empire Strikes Back," but all the large spreads are across the spine.

Thanks for the packet, there were a couple of new ones to me.

Yeah, McQuarrie art would be great. And I mean full art, not those cropped screen themes. I have only a couple and they arent that hi-res.

Well, this time they'll do. ;) I have a nice little collection of hi-res posters of Star Wars, Empire and Raiders that's the best I've seen so far. My plan was to make them available to everyone as a sort of give back to this forum for everything I've gotten here as soon as some of them got colorcorrected, but maybe some of you can help me out with that. Especially the classic Tom Jung style A poster that I cannot manage to colorcorrect even though I have it hanging on my wall as a reference (I'm really bad at this;) So feel free to pm me if your photoshop skills are any good.

We want you to be aware that we have no plans—now or in the future—to restore the earlier versions.

Sincerely, Lynne Hale publicity@lucasfilm.com

Nice! I have collected these, too, and I have over 100 different ones to this date. I'd still need the rarer stuff in higher res, though.

That Style A is kinda difficult. I've even seen it officially at least in 3 different colorthemes so I'm not even sure how it should look. I've seen it bluish, grayish and brownish?

And in the time of greatest despair, there shall come a savior, and he shall be known as the Son of the Suns.

Yeah, Style A comes in many different colorthemes due to different printings I guess, I've read somewhere that they were not pleased with the first printing of it (too dark and brown) the one on my wall is of a more red-brownish tone actually. ;)

Exactly what rare stuff do you seek? Maybe I can help you out...

I confirm. I'm gifted to find gems but there I've been beaten.

Bad idea !

You should leave those files untouched or at least join the untouched original scans and let anyone deal with these their way. A good looking but not "professionally", or even not "tasty" enough - depending on who watches, or the purpose - made color corrections can f*ck up some subtleties than would be then headache or even impossible to get back.

Also I like to see the difference between skilled people who will take care to do things right and will fix that themselves, and the ones who will just take a poster and paste it. You don't want to give the latters good weapons mmhh ? Haha.

Now it would be cool indeed someone may send you back the poster(s) you'd like to see corrected as a thank ! (Sorry I haven't).

... Perhaps Eyeshotfirst could help you with that if he has time, notably to thank you for the big size poster I sent to him a while back,... wich I've had thanks to you (well, one of the 2 versions I sent) ! :)

Yes, it has already been proven a bad idea. :) I've sent a few ones to a selected few that have been generous to me in the past, also my photoshop skill has been vastly improved since then, so my offer has been withdrawn because of the lack of interest. ;)

Sorry I've worked mostly on a downscaled version of your poster for the AE. Perhaps it can still serves you as a model for your corrections though. ;)

Anyone have a link or know where I can get a decent res ESB 30th logo, the grayish one with Yoda at the top? Thanks!

Looking for a scan of the quote on the VHS Trilogy set (~1990).

Here's the quote:

Fifteen years ago I set out to make a film for a generation growing up without fairy tales.

Star Wars was my own elaborate fantasy, but its popularity has gone beyond anything even I had imagined.

In years to come I hope that you, your children, and your children's children will enjoy experiencing this saga as much as I have.

George Lucas

thnx in advance

Yes that's the artwork of the Trilogy set, those are covers of the Rowman or Editdroid sets.

But i'm interested in the side with the quote.  Which is in silver and done script style, as if written by GL.  People seem to have scanned the front, but not the sides.  This VHS set had fold out wings, which i've also never seen scanned.

Here's a low res version:

Would love a 600dpi so i can do an adequate vectorization of it.  Might have to settle working with this version.

Is this an original poster and if it is, where does it come from?

It is the original 1980 International Three Sheet. As the name suggests the three sheets are normally approximately 3 times the size of the most common used poster, called a one sheet.
