HELP with Avatar NEEDED

It seems that there is a programming error in this forum protocal regarding the avatars.

It is impossible to deactivate the selected forum avatar in order to upload a custom one.

And YES, my pic is 50x50 pixels and less than 5 kb large, and I've tried both, JPEG and GIF.

Help would be appreciated.

in the top corner of your screen there is a lock, beside it is a link that takes you to the private messages page. it is strait forward from there. just send him a PM, i been having the same problem.

Maybe someone should re-design that bit of the site (the PM link) -- it's not very conclusive, when it just says "no new messages".

Yep, that I did. Welcome aboard Doc. Sorry about the avatar thing. It's been an issue for a while and we have several members running around with the same avatar. Gets confusing as hell. Jay is the person to talk to and this has been something that he has wanted to address for a while. But him being the only programmer and having a full-time job as his priority kinda takes away from his time to do this. He has said in the last week that he's gonna hit the ground running with programming issues on this forum. Here's hopin'! We love ya, Jay!

Several people are looking forward to it. Dayv's got a custom Vader avatar, Shimraa wants one, and several others. My Bossk avatar was uploaded way back when this forum first started. It's my custom. If you have an avatar you really want done and Jay can't fix the upload system, e-mail him your avatar and ask him to hardcode it in. He has said that he can do this but doesn't want to make a habit of it. When you PM him, ask for his e-mail addy.

Oh well, I made a few statements here and there. But all in all I was pretty relaxed about the whole issue. I was a regular reader, though. As for my regular appearance nowadays, you have to thank Jim Ward's 'kind words' for the fans - that really made it a personal issue for me. That's also what actually inspired me to make lots of custom banners (still haven't showed you guys all of them) and attempting to design a flier to inform people about the situation. I'm also pimping the petition wherever possible and arguing until my opponents yield and sign the friggin' thing. The web is suffering - and it's all Jim Ward's fault.
