Sounds good to me!
Also, is it me or does it sound like you’re repeating the same voice clip for Hermione three times in the clip?

I did. Good catch. This was adressed over at fanedit.org too. It was a placeholder.
She now shouts different Harry’s, and her voice is less urgent.

Okay, so I think I’ve found a brilliant solution to what many deem one of the more crushing aspects of The Goblet of Fire;
The Yule Ball.
Now, this is the part in the movie where the plot completely stops at a hault for a whooping 23 minutes without any movement to the story (besides beautiful character development). Then the film proceeds with The Second Task and then seven minutes later The Third Task, followed by the Third Act.
I always hated how The Third Task came so quickly after The Second Task, not to mention how the film grows very stale in the middle-point with The Yule Ball. Like, exceptionally still.
So, what’s the solution?
Well, if the The Second Task was to be introduced after the introduction of McGonagall’s Dance lessons but also right before Winter, then not only will the timing of events be proper to the weather (students wearing scarfs etc. but no snow) but there is also momentum to the story with The Yule Ball events happening simountanously to The Second Task events (except for Harry asking Cho out, then the twins, and then the actual Yule Ball event which will all happen after The Second Task).
So now both the storylines are complementing one another, without the story stopping for the other. Win-Win?
Then we also get increased time between The Second Task and The Third Task, as The Yule Ball event, Dumbledore’s office and the Pensieve, Barty Crouch murder, and Snape’s Potion Chamber all eat up more than 20 minutes of interesting story development.
Having done a rough cut with this idea I am blown out the park that the film wasn’t structured this way, despite not following the book faithfully in the unfolding of the events.
Book lovers will maybe not love it, but then again - my focus is on improving the film, not the book. Hehe. And also this is not a change that removes anything like beautiful character moments. It just re-arranges when they happen.
What do you think?

Why didn’t I think of that?! 😧
Your genius has yet to be matched! Will there be restoration of any deleted scenes? 😀

Brilliant! I also think this is the way forward.
Now, this edit is crafting into the category of extensive, so I can only do an estimate of August release at the earliest.
Things I have left to do, besides more audio work (sfx, ambiences and replacement work), are Visual Effects including, but not limited to;
And then it’s the general finetuning of all the things either mentioned or not mentioned in this thread, that need to be good to perfect before I render a beta version for Chloe to criticize.
Lumos!

Oh, and thank you so much, CamSMurph. That’s quite the compliment. I don’t think it comes down to brilliance; I think it comes down to me using way too much of my time to think about these things when I should focus about work or family. Haha.
As for Deleted Scenes, yes; I have upscaled two deleted scenes for GoF Ultimate Edition. Snape and Igor’s conversation at the Yule Ball, and Ron, Hermione and Harry discussing the murder of you-know-who.

Which one do you plan on finishing first: PoA or GoF?

Ideally I’d like to release them at the same time, but time will tell. If GoF isn’t done by the end of the month, I’ll release PoA first as it doesn’t have too much work left to be done.

So Chloe came up with a suggestion for Half-Blood Prince and it’s opening.
The idea was to remove too much of the action in the beginning as the opening promises an action-packed adventure, which HbP is everything but, and crosscut the Death Eaters attacking Diagon Alley with Harry’s cafè visit. This way, the audience will think Harry is the Death Eater’s target rather than Diagon Alley, and first when we see Dumbledore arrive do we realize he’s outside of any danger.
This also sets the proper dark tone for the film, as the Death Eaters are lurking in the shadows during the film, plotting their next move, and Harry and his friends constantly in a sense of unease.
I took and did some hours to arrange something that would work, and I think I now do have something:
Having to re-do large amounts of the opening SFX and ambience this crack at it took me a couple of hours, but I think it does a better set-up for the film than the original opening.

Brilliant!
Goblet of Fire Ultimate Edition is almost at full completion. Voldemort’s red eyes will be an updated version in the near future. The rotoscoping work is beyond difficult, with the scenes darker than night itself, and I don’t deem the change fundemental enough in importance to stall the edit with several more months.
Releasing soon, along with Prisoner of Azkaban Ultimate Edition.

Consider me pumped! Rotoscoping can be a bitch, I know! No matter, your skills have evolved so much that you should achieve your goal in due time. 😃

Both outstanding from beginning to end! The new intro in PoA should give you an idea on what to expect. As PoA is rightfully considered the best in the series, little has been altered, save for a few nitpicks.
The new colour grade helps bring back the warmth of the first two movies, and as the story gets darker, so do the colours. What a way to compliment the mature storytelling!
Cuts are seamless throughout, and in keeping with musical continuity, Andreas brings back John Williams’ classic themes from Sorcerer’s Stone and Chamber of Secrets. PoA is Williams’ final contribution to the Harry Potter series and it really is a shame that his themes weren’t brought over from this point onward. God bless Andreas for remedying this in the best way possible!
Also, keep your eye out for a few clever cameos. 😉
GoF is just as good, if not better. Dark and difficult times lie ahead, indeed. Andreas has put together a much scarier affair than the theatrical version. This is particularly evident in the graveyard. The changes to Voldemort, in particular, are really something else. I won’t elaborate as I feel this should be viewed as blindly as possible.
The restructuring here is something no other GoF edit has done. It actually improves the story incredibly well to have the Yule Ball take place after the Second Task. That way, the Second and Third Tasks don’t feel like they take place mere weeks apart.
This is also the first of the Ultimate Editions to make use of select deleted scenes, all of which have been cropped and upscaled to fit the IMAX format Andreas has prepped for these new editions. The additional scenes in question add some important plot details and character moments which, I daresay, shouldn’t have been left out. This truly feels like a more complete experience!
The new sound mix in both edits is nothing short of impeccable. The SFX and ambience in certain scenes makes the environment feel more… magical. That’s all I will say on the matter.
While I can certainly point out a few things that need improving, I think I speak for everyone when I say, Andreas doesn’t disappoint! Thank you, good sir, for keeping the magic alive. And extra special thanks to Chloe of Fanedit.org for helping him through this! Well bloody done to both of you! 👏
Can’t wait for Order of the Phoenix through Deathly Hallows!

Are the Harry Potter movies available on his drive?
I am not sure if something was changed, but his drive is now indicating I need permission to access.
Also, thanks for the review without the spoilers. I would love to watch these even more now.
I never saw that Prisoner and Goblet had been released. If they are, I’d certainly like to check them out.
