For some reason I always associate the movie with the late 1980s rather than the early 1990s.
Well, it’s Groundhog Day… again.
A thread to discuss the wonderful Bill Murray movie, Groundhog Day (which is turning 30 this month by the way!).

Probably Bill Murray’s best movie with him as the lead (Ghostbusters is slightly better, but it’s more of an ensemble film).
Gods for some, miniature libertarian socialist flags for others.
I have watched the movie every year since either 2010 or 2011, and plan to indefinitely. It’s my grounding meditation for the year (pun intended).
If I do this the rest of my life, 0.0192% of it will be spent rewatching the movie.
I know I’ve made some very poor decisions recently.

It really does have more of an 80s feel than 90s; I absolutely agree with this. I feel that way partly because I feel comedies got to be more outright stupid in the 90s, and ones with poignancy were more in the 80s(think anything John Hughes).

Did anyone have a chance to rewatch it theaters this month? I’m keeping my eyes out for opportunities.
