Grievous added to databank

I know, I know! Obi Wan should just jump over his head and cut him in half. It works every time.

But in all seriousness, I'm just worried about the CGI execution of him. He is in CGI, right? I hope I'm wrong.

No idea if he's CG or practical. I'm hoping practical. However, since he is mechanical, they may be able to have him look quite good in CG. Mechanical tends to look much better in the computer than anything organic, due to simple rules of physics. It's easier to predict how light will reflect off of a smooth metal surface than how it'll bounce off of skin, pores, hair, scales, and all of these things that are so random in their appearance. That's why (to me) the battle droids look pretty convincing, while the Gungans look utterly unbelievable. Give me rubber puppets any day, at least they'll be tactile.

The bubble must burst:

Grevious is CGI, probably throughout the whole movie.

Wow, you really thought Lucas would make him anything but CGI?

as long as he isnt as disatrous as Jar jar binks, who was much less annoying five years ago than he is now, then it should be just fine. I thiknk much of its reception will be based on who plays its voice. I read that John Riyas Davis (his royal GIMLI-NESS himslef) might do it. and what kinduv hopfully not inane diaglogue lucas gives him.

Yeah, ol' Sallah would be a good choice.

If "his gimli-ness" was to play Grevious, that would be actually quite awesome.

Especially if Lucas doesn't write his dialogue.

BTW, whatever happened to that guy from Harry Potter 3?.. Gary Oldman, I believe. I thought he was playing Grevious.

I think that was just an over-hyped and widely-believed rumour.

Oldman had to turn the role down because he is a guild member and Lucasfilm doesn't support the guilds. At least, that's the nonsense answer I read in multiple sources. I can't imagine that Sam L. isn't in SAG.

Uh wasn't Grievous at the database already?
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

My picture of Grievous and how he moves in my head don't fit in with CGI strengths. So my only worry is if he is trying to be the way I picture him and he is CGI, it'll fail. Luckily, chances are that he won't be anything like I imagine, so I'll end up pleased. With the character at least.

I saw a few episodes. I did see the one with Grievous.

Opinion: I thought in that cartoon, grievous looked like an idiot. The whole way he moved was just lame and silly looking. So I hope that he is different in the movie.

Yes, but we didn't see much of him. And most of it was fighting. If the movie only shows him fighting, he will suck as a character. That's what I meant.

His fighting was ridiculous. Granted, it's a cartoon, but he was spinning 360 with the lightsabers like Tik Tock did with the Wheelers in Return To Oz.
