Good Simple Engine to make 3D Fighting Games

I want to make a fighting game which is similar to the Marvel Vs. Capcom games. I only want to use Marvel characters, and I want to use 3D because it's easier to make than a 2D game. I originally intended to make the game using the 2D engine known as MUGEN. But I dropped that engine because it was too hard to program and no one wanted to help me with it. That's why I need an engine that's easy to program as well.

Does anyone know of a good, simple-to-use 3D game engine which I can use to make fighting games?

Well, there is "Fighting Game Maker" for the PS2, but I don't know how customizable it is.

Well, Chaltab, I think he wants something more low-level than that.

I say that making a 2D fighting game is easier than a 3D one, but if you wanna go for the 3D... The thing is, I belive most 3D figthing engines are owned by softwarehouses and not open to the public, I could be wrong though. First, have you ever considered using something like Valve's Source? There is a fighting game made on that, even though it is a shooter engine (hell, I've seen a rally game made with the Quake engine!).

If you really aren't into developing something so complex, you could find those customizable kits for fightiing games. I've seen a couple of those for 2D fighting games, Chaltab has mentioned a 3D one, but I don't think those are really that good...

I don't think this is exactly what you are looking for, but the people at GarageGames have modified the Tribes 2 engine to to lots of cool stuff.

4 years ago, me and my college senior capstone buddies made a game with that engine that did some cool stuff with generating terrain using mp3s. If you're interested, here's our Final Report. Email me at the address in my profile if you'd like to play the game (it's only a 11.8 meg file that I can send you).
