Perhaps he’s referring to all the bruhaha that’s gone down since Frink/Possessed/Collipso were banned? I know I’ve lost a lot of interest in this place with their absence.

Sure, but I thought we had a tight enough community that we could survive a temporary shake-up.
I miss the guys that got banned and I miss the ones who left because of it, but I guess I thought we’d all be coming back, rolling our eyes and putting it behind us soon.
I know I’ve never been terribly popular around here, but I really do like many of you and I’m sad to see everybody leaving.
But, that’s life. Nothing lasts.

^ You were missed by a fair few of us a while back mate - I’d say you’re a popular member around here, and people are glad you’re back posting.
Though like it was at the beginning of this site starting up 15+ years ago - all are welcome; it’s one of the most endearing qualities about this unique place 😃
Some will leave, some will come back, and everyone needs a break now and then - yet we’re still here strutting our stuff. I never thought we’d get over the likes of HotRod, Rikter, Bossk, ricarleite, sean wookie, JediSage, Nanner Split, motti_soL, Darth Chaltab, Gaffer Tape, and Shim et al not posting as much - yet in time we did… and then again… and then again…

I’m kind of back. Life has pulled me away a fair bit lately. I also decided that Star Wars and I should see other people for a while.
"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. I believe I’ll be taking a sabbatical from this place for awhile. I think it’s evident that I don’t derive much enjoyment being here anymore, what with most of my present output being mean-spirited snark, so it’s best if I put some distance between us.
I’ll return every now and then to update my screenplays in the Script Writing/Rewriting section and check in on what the faneditors are up to.

I’m not “going away” necessarily, but I don’t post much here anymore. I keep the tab open, lurk around to see if anyone’s trying to reach me, but I’m not an active poster. If any of you ever want to reach me, shoot me a PM, or just find me on FE where I’m a bit more active these days.

I’m back.
I’ll probably continue avoiding General SW, and I won’t return to posting as regularly as I once did, but time away from the forum helped clear enough negative energy so that I no longer feel like avoiding ot.com like the plague.

glad to see you back and I am digging the Independence Day avatar . I read your post in that characters voice .Just be on the lookout for Captain SW or Colonel SW and good luck avoiding General Sw . Myself , I try to avoid Leftenant Sw .

I’m going to stay away from the internet for a while to focus on my mental health. Things aren’t looking too good, guys.
I don’t know how long I’ll be gone, but I hope I’ll lurk around and post sooner rather than later.

I tried toughing it out, hoping things would turn around, but the plain, painful truth is that I don’t like Star Wars anymore, there’re no more interesting discussions to be had in Off-Topic/The Subforums Formerly Known as Off-Topic, so there’s nothing to keep me here anymore.
To echo the closing words of long departed yhwx, I log out and close the browser tab, crossing my heart, hoping to die, sticking a needle in my eye.
