…in word if not in deed.

In a current debate over the colourisation of classic films and television series versus film preservation.

The Flanneled One was thusly quoted:

Quote

"I am very concerned about our national heritage, and I am very concerned that the films that I watched when I was young and the films that I watched throughout my life are preserved, so that my children can see them," said Star Wars creator George Lucas, who doesn’t mind tinkering with his own classics for special edition re-releases.

So you see, he actually believes that we’re doing what’s right, protecting our childhood memories, preserving film history and national (galactic?) heritage, not just for ourselves but for our children.

"The people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country." - Goering.

"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it." - Goebbels.

"In times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act." - Orwell.

Da Governator!

I think it's nice to have Schwazeneger as a governor of California. He's not as right-winged as many republicans are, he can be laughed of and get the blame for anything bad he does in the office, and he cannot be elected as president, so there's no danger in that happening.

"Mr. Governor, we need to know when are you going to meet with the union leaders, they demand 20% up on their benefits. They demand to arrange a meeting with you tomorrow morning."

"Well ya can tell those wimpy little mahns thaht I'm going to kill tham personally, with my beahre hands!"

"Mr Governor you cannot solve all the problems of California by the use of violence, bodybuilding contests, or machine guns."

"Oh yeah? Take dis!" (punchs his secretary on the face, his head explodes)

"Hasta la vista... baby."

All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

Not yet, but it is being considered. Do you think it will be a realistic possibility?

Jay Sherman: Hey, McBain. Your shoe's untied.
Rainer Wolfcastle: [after many hours pass] Upon closer inspection, these are loafers.

Jay Sherman: How do you sleep at night?
Rainer Wolfcastle: On top of a pile of money with many beautiful ladies.

I'm sure Jimbo here would even like to see the movie Pi colourized. Effectively meaning he disagrees with Lucas here, but agrees with him changing Star Wars!

Not nearly enough CGI dinosaurs in Schindler's List either.

Also it could use a comedy relief character.

OK so maybe they should colorize the opening scenes in Wizard of Oz. And maybe dub a dialog on Chaplin's "The Kid". Stupid bastards...

Techincally, sepia is color. Is it not?

Yes, but those were monochromatic scenes. It only captured the absence or existence of light, not the colors itself.
