I always thought that his girlfriend would get to apply her legal expertese to help save him at the end, that was a missed oppurtunity.


as for the sentimental quotient, I agree with the darabont script there was probably heaps of it. A darabont movie set in the 50s, how could it not. And then Spielberg and Lucas said that there would be tons of jokes to make fun of how old Harrison Ford is. I think the whole movie would just be in jokes and winks at the camera, and I also think Spielberg and Lucas have both lost their touch so there's little likely hood IMHo that this could be pulled off with any pleasing results.

Do kids today even care about IJ? It seems like he's dropped off the pop culture radar.

Indiana is still popular enough. Most kids don't get the chance to watch Indy. I have shown my Indiana Jones DVDs to lots of kids and they love em.

I think IJ is like SW. Once the hype starts to build, people will buy tickets. They know who he is, and even if the interest level isn't absolutely enormous right now, it will build in preparation of the theatrical release of IJ4.
