I had ROTJ for Gameboy too. It was tough if I recall, but I have a feeling I finished it back in the day, if not a distinct memory of what the ending was…

Well, spoilers:

They blow up the death star, the emperor and Darth Vader die.

I wish I hadn’t clicked on that. Now I have no reason to play it.

Anybody play Empire on the NES? Luke Kills Boba Fett by destroying Slave1 during a dogfight with his X-Wing. Somehow Han doesn’t die in the explosion, but is saved. Vader pulls a gun on you. You kill Vader and save the world.
After the first game followed the movie so well, I’ve always been confused by these changes.
Oh yeah, and it’s Harder. Than. Hell. Many “bosses” have a spot where you can hide and shoot without taking damage, but it can take up to 10 minuets of standing there shooting to defeat em…

Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga could use a remake. The graphics themselves haven’t aged too badly; it’s the minifigures that have. But really, I’d want tons of new levels and characters too.

I recently figured out what it is that Lego games are missing to be truly great: introducing new mechanics and building upon them. They need to have levels more like this, rather than repetitive, assortments of easy tasks haphazardly mixed together. It would be tricky to implement such a design formula when adapting an existing story, but I’m sure it could be done.

I’m excited for the Battlefront 2(017) Beta, I just hope the hero selection isn’t final. I’m irrationally bothered by being able to play as Rey or Han during the attack on Naboo, or use Maul’s TPM ship among TIE Fighters and X-Wings.

Isn’t it like the last one where you could play as any hero anywhere? I’d prefer that to locale-specific heroes.

I’m also hoping that the different era soldier types aren’t locked to specific locations.

I’m fine with era crossing heroes. I’d actually be annoyed if you couldn’t do that.

Not enough people read the EU.

That might be the case. Truth be told, I didn’t play the first one. I’m actually alright with that. I thought you only have a limited selection of heroes based on the map (like the original Battlefront 2; if you were playing Utapau, for example, you could only play as either Grievous or Obi-Wan), and they just decided that Rey and Han Solo fit for Naboo. If you can pick from all the heroes and play whoever you want, then it doesn’t bother me.

I thought the old BFII had it set up so that you could play with OT or PT armies on any map (but not a mix), and you got the corresponding set of heroes depending on which era you were playing (i.e. Empire vs. Rebels on Kamino or Republic vs. Separatists on Hoth is fine, bout you couldn’t do Republic vs. Empire or Separatists vs. Rebels). Whether that’s how it used to be or not, that’s how I’d like it to be now.

You are exactly correct. Just checked out Battlefront 2 myself to make sure. Also had some good time destroying x-wings left and right in a space battle above Geonosis.

I never even made it past the Jabba boss fight. I don’t think I owned it though so I probably just borrowed it and didn’t get far.

There are TONS of mods for OG BFII on PC. Custom 7.77GB disc which installs to 35GB or so if all mods are selected. Very worth it.

I still wonder why they don’t do an X-Wing vs TIE Fighter reboot.
With VR it would be many a young fan’s dream come true.

The little VR experience in the first new Battlefront where you fly a X-Wing is absolutely exhilarating !

Han: Hey Lando! You kept your promise, right? Not a scratch?
Lando: Well, what’s left of her isn’t scratched. All the scratched parts got knocked off along the way.
Han (exasperated): Knocked off?!

It depends if there’s an audience for it any more, people just want to shoot lasers and get points. Throw in a season pass, burn it out after a year and throw out a sequel. Can you imagine anyone bringing back the same controls for s-foils, firing configuration, missiles, shield power vs speed etc etc? Do flight sticks even exist today? It’s been a while I admit.

Flight sticks do exists, even complicated and expensive ones. And there is space sims games (Elite Dangerous) with extensive controls.

Recently completed Rogue Squadron & Battle For Naboo (all Gold Medals) on the N64…

and so took the retro plunge and bought a Gamecube bundle - the console & leads, 2 official controllers, memory card, and… Rogue Leader, Rebel Strike, Jedi Outcast, Clone Wars, Bounty Hunter, and Lego SW Original Trilogy - all for the price of a new ‘AAA’ console/pc game.

Not bad for 6 Star Wars games - maybe get the Lego Prequel Trilogy game later on if nostalgia holds firm (7 Star Wars games on 1 console… not bad; even if a couple weren’t highly rated 😃)

May also get Mario Kart, TimeSplitters and some of the Resident Evil series etc - seem to be all going cheap.
