I haven’t been able to find a video of it online, but there’s a promo airing on Turner Classic Movies for the upcoming TCM/Bonhams movie memorabilia auction featuring an original ESB Darth Vader costume. The actor who wore the suit for promotional appearances back in the day tells a great story about the one and only time he ever broke character in costume. 😃

Very interesting! How did the animators sneak an OOT version past the Mouse? 😛

They certainly had a lot of incentive. If you had made a film, would you want Jedi Rocks to play over the whole thing?

And one possible implication is the Mouse doesn’t care because they’re releasing the OUT anyway.

I normally don’t watch SW animated shorts, but i read about this one on another forum. Published yesterday. Lapti Nek! (And, I think, a representation of the reasonably sized palace door from the OUT Jedi.

Holy crap, the way it zooms in on 3PO at the end. That actually made me laugh! I really like these little shorts, and Jabba was genuinely creepy in it too.

Which version of Lapti Nek is that?

I think it’s the soundtrack version. I’ve read that there is no isolated version of the film recording in existence. There’s a goofy recreation/remix of the film version on youtube that’s kind of fun though.

Sometimes I get the sense that some folks at LF are embarrassed by aspects of the SEs. This clip without the goofy dinos, that weird Frankenstein clip that was on SW.com for awhile that excised the 2011 version of Ben’s dragon call but kept the rest the same. It seems in PR focused areas they want to put their best foot forward and not have casual onlookers look and think it looks dumb.

Why would LF give that footage to CNN unless… UNLESS! ? ! ? !

Could it be?! Could they … be transferring the GOUT… to a Blu-ray set …as a bonus feature…

Lol. I doubt they would premier a new restoration of Star Wars on CNN! But why choose any transfer of the original cut over the SE if LF really believes in locking the OUT in the Disney Vault next to Song of the South for all eternity?

Shocking since the two Jedi docs capture the moment he suggested putting lips on her. 😉

I saw the one with Luke blowing up the Death Star on Disney XD tonight, and no Praxis ring on the explosion!

I wonder why they ditched the feather on her head? Too hard to do in CGI in 1997?

The dumbest part is that it’s visible in frame before the song starts. They spent money on a CGI nightmare and still made a continuity error. Weird tusks are still gone in the animated short though.
