Nah, they started doing this back when all there was was the Clone Wars.

Has anyone else noticed the file layout of the ANH blu-ray.

It's kind of interesting (as much as a file layout can be, at least), that the film is encoded entirely in one m2ts, except for the intro. Everything up through the crawl, until the final frame of the flyover, is in a separate file.

Is there an obvious reason they might have done that? Or is it possible that they were considering an alternatively branched crawl? Not quite sure what the point would have been for the latter, sticking the 1977 crawl on a screwy version of the film.

Just thought it was kind of interesting that an important branching/splicing point for both fan editing and the film's history was utilized for some reason here.

Maybe crawls for different languages? I can't remember if the alien subtitles are still on the picture, though, if they were changed to "regular" subtitles, the crawl would be the only thing that they would need to change for a different dub.

The DVD's have crawls in different languages.

Two explosions look very similar to me

I'm wondering if the destruction of the Hoth Energy Generator and the second Death Star use same the 'explosion effect'?

Can someone confirm that?

Rogue One is redundant. Just play the first mission of DARK FORCES.

An Easter Egg for fans combing through the files?

Seriously, though, that file structure might make more sense if, instead of putting the 1977 crawl in front of the current SE, they'd wanted to attach the 1981-1997 OOT version of the film after the current crawl.

Odd.

That would have been immensely awesome and would have made Jar Jar my most favourite SW character EVER.

I don't think MJ would have gone with the pseudo-Jamaican accent, though. =P

MJ seems somehow to fit in the character :D

I agree. Also, according to an early draft (http://web.archive.org/web/20141101101007/secrethistoryofstarwars.com/thebeginning.html)

Jar Jar speaks normal English, but is very child-like and emotional.

Guinea pigs are sold as pets in the U.S. I don't know about other places. It's almost as bad a seeing a dog or cat being roasted, and trust me, you don't want to see what I've had the misfortune of seeing elsewhere.

Why do I even have to explain this?

Moving on, I think I found the design inspiration for the senate chamber.

Oops. Sorry about that. I keep forgetting many people aren't as desensitized towards stuff like this as I am.

Because its a bizarre thing to censor. If it were some squished roadkill that'd be one thing but that was a skinned and roasted animal. What kind of world do we live in where adults can't handle seeing food? That's just silly.

In the hope of ending this edible animal strand but at the risk of extending it, killing and eating animals is the same thing be they things considered pets in the West or not. This is the internet, it's an open forum. As someone who doesn't eat animals at all I am as distressed by a roast chicken as I am at a roasted cat.

I discovered today that my sainted great grandmother used to drown kittens. This fresh revelation has really weirded me out but cats served a function in rodent control in the past. Excess numbers of cats would be unsustainable and paying for a vet to call an end to the reproductive life of a cat would have been expensive. But I can't shake the idea of my lovely nan holding new born kittens underwater.

"What has this got to do with Star Wars?", I perceive you asking.

The original post  in this strand was on topic being a roasted Jar-Jar.

Silverwook was right to consider the feelings of people who don't like to see gore or animal flesh prepared for consumption but to take particular offence based on a Western, 21st century view of the human relationship with animals is running the risk of alienating people who visit the pages from the future or the past... or other planets.

Or as an dear old friend sadly seldom seen these days would say "double standards".

The footage here may distress some readers as it shows the consumption of live animals : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tiD-n7ewvGo

Anywho...

My summer job this year has been at a camp. I am pleased to say that not only are a lot of the kids Star Wars fans, but they seem to be only OT fans. I was talking to a 6 year old boy today who referred to Empire as "the second one." Made me so happy.
