Maybe the inevitable thought of gaffer taped five year old girls is probably a bit too BBC Television Centre circa 1975 to want to dwell too much upon.

I say this as a person who has tried to scrub my one and only viewing of Salo or the 120 Days of Sodom (also 1975) from my mind since the late 1980s.

I wish it was possible to get over the counter brain soap.

We have a prominent member of the community named after what Carrie wore instead of underwear in space.

And the correct form is "you meen hes a ...." which in this case I'm certainly not.

Until he starts posting again, I've (sadly) fixed that for you.

What? Gaffer Tape left? How long has it been already?

A couple months, I think. Maybe less. Not really that long, at any rate.

Gaffer is still posting Dragon Ball videos and updating his Facebook, so he's fine. Just irregular.

You know I wonder if the prequels work better as comics. The glibness of some of the one-liners better fits the medium, and you don't have to deal with anyone's acting. I haven't read the Dark Horse adaptations in years, but I remember enjoying Episode II on paper.

Revenge of the Sith. Kinda dull sometimes.  I had a thought watching it last night.

Just imagine this.  Palpy and Anakin are watching the opera. A servant brings Palpy a drink, offers one to Anakin, who is going to refuse but a look from Palpy makes him reconsider and he takes it. They are both having a drink throughout the scene.

No new dialogue. No new special effects. Just a little bit of business that:

  • reinforces the subtext of the scene, serving as a kind of metaphor
  • give the actors something to do other than stare at eachother.
  • give the audience something to see other than bad greenscreen compositing.

Gah, hearing all the awesome ways the prequels could have been better makes them all that more difficult to watch! They definitely needed more stuff like that.

I'd also limit each Jedi character to one frown per movie.

I know it's one of the few expressions they have but if ever there was an argument for Botulinum toxin...

I really don't see how a cool and refreshing beverage will enhance this scene.  It's not a beer commercial ya know.

It's not the beverage itself, it's what it shows between the characters. I prefer it over just sitting on a couch and talking.

For me it would have made more sense seeing Palpatine watch seafood ballet at the beginning of the PT and then have the entertainment in ROTS be a rather dark and vengeful propaganda movie that the inner circle applaud enthusiastically.

That would have charted the galaxy's fall from grace into the sort of decadent hate based society that would be remolded into the Empire.

No, it's not from the Kenobi movie. ;)

Since Sir Alec's Obi Wan was once interpreted by some as being a Christ like figure, Ewan playing Jesus is kind of interesting.

Ah, wonderful -- another Jesus film with the Son of David played by a WASP with absolutely no Semetic blood flowing through his veins whatsoever.

When's this tired trope going to die? It's almost* as outdated as whites playing Indians.

*And I'm being generous here.
