Not impossible. The movie doesn't have to be real time--it could be a long time lapse video, or skip ahead a few years after each scene.
EDIT: I'm replying to Duracell, not the yahoo who posted at the same time as me.

LOL, that's so true.
Empire voted top film of all time by a new poll.
Very interesting to see the films that are not at the tops of these lists. Really reflects the changing of the generational guard. Nice to see many of "our" classics up there.

I swear such lists should disallow films made within the last ten years just to keep the churn down. Not that there aren't always some fine films within the last ten years, but it's not like people will stop making lists in the future, and they can show up then if they still warrant it.
I remember watching the Prometheus trailer and thinking, if this is what they are showing in the trailers what the film going to be like. When then I watched the film...and I found out didn't I?

That's nice but after a quick browse, that looks like one of the stupidest film polls I've ever read.... gimme Sight & Sound or nuthin'.
VIZ TOP TIPS! - PARENTS. Impress your children by showing them a floppy disk and telling them it’s a 3D model of a save icon.
It's actually not a terrible list, but The Dark Knight at #3 is laughable, and as much as I like Inception, it doesn't belong anywhere near this list.
These sorts of polls seem to come out a couple times a year.
Note the name of the magazine conducting this one. ;)
Where were you in '77?
They are perfect for that list..
A concise list top films of all time would be A) enormous B) Mostly be comprised of films made before the 1980's, C) mostly be comprised of foreign language movies and D) include films not yet made and made on other planets (all time includes the future, present and past of everywhere).
The list represents the current readership of Empire Magazine and the winning entry has the magazine title in it's own title... quelle surprise

These were my thoughts.

Where do things that fall through Bespin (the gas giant) land?
They probably get crushed out of existence once the pressure around them becomes too great.

Apparently they just get lodged in the Cloud City airshafts.

What would happen to this site if Disney released the BD's of the OT the way we wanted them?
J
I think we'd have a planet-wide celebration, with body-surfing stormtroopers, and then we'd topple the statue of George Lucas.
You know of the rebellion against the Empire?

I'd be out, in approximately as much time as it takes to write goodbye. For many, including myself, the lack of a proper OT release is the only real reason for being here.
Yeah, there are still fan edits and preservations of unrelated films, some of which I've been involved in. But really, a proper OT release? Our work is done.
But I think the key words in your question are "the way we wanted them". Let's say a good-quality BD release of the OT happens someday. I'm assuming it won't have the '77 crawl, won't have the original six-channel mixes (not to mention no mono mixes), and it will have some sort of screwed up video issues (DNR, boosted contrast, weird colors). That's probably quite enough to keep this site going with its current dedicated following, even if the appeal to new users is reduced.
Nothing would change for me, it's the thing I post least about. ;-)
Well I believe many of us are here just to discuss Star Wars. Pretty much the best place to do that.

Thanks, Ric Olie 3.
I don't think things would change too much. We all sort of ended up here because we didn't fit in with other parts of the fandom. The people who prefer the SE's, and hiss at anyone who likes the OOT, aren't likely to change their tune. Some of them are probably already putting an mental footnote on the sequel that reads "Not By George".
The new films will change the fandom map as much or more than the prequels did.
We should send George a nice note someday, thanking him for unintentionally bringing all of us together, and inspiring the first fan edits. :)

I'll still be here!

The OOT wasn't what brought me here in the first place, so'd I'd still be here for sure.
Did anybody have this in their yard back in the day? I recall Toys R Us selling these, but it looks like an accident waiting to happen now.
Hey kids! Have fun planning Ewok massacres! Your Emperor commands you!

Wow, four whole sounds for that giant thing. One sec, just playing a million songs from a handheld device.
