General Star Wars Random Thoughts Thread — Page 137

Did the Rebels have a system for the handling of prisoners in the war?  I mean did they have the resources necessary to handle the troops they captured at Endor? Or did they just give them to the Ewoks to eat?

It seems like people are really embracing the new characters. In fact, the big question people ask me now about Star Wars is, “Are Finn and Poe gay lovers?” And really how the f*ck would I know? My second husband left me for a man, so my gaydar isn’t exactly what you’d call Death Star level quality. ----Carrie Fisher

Good question. The Ewoks had all those helmets to bang on, so they either took them off of prisoners or corpses.

Would be interesting if we saw some former Imperials in the sequels. Would they be trustworthy, or always under suspicion?

Yeah, they're going to dig all the old crap up just in time for the sequels.

This is hardly unique to Star Wars. Some of the original Trek cast have had issues with Shatner. ;)

Jake Tapper on CNN explained his "Jar Jar Binks theory" in reference to a certain wrinkled, leathery, politically incorrect basketball team owner today. Someone with so much money and power, that nobody will tell them when something is a really bad idea. George was not mentioned by name though.

JEDIT:Apparently, he's had this theory for a few years now...

I like that they used a Dark Trooper for the Hulk.

"The prisoners had been sent on shuttles to what was left of the Imperial Fleet - the Rebel Star Cruisers were dealing with all that. Up there, somewhere."

With the latest attempt at an American Godzilla movie being unleashed this weekend, let's take a little trip down memory lane...

Whom the joke was ultimately on greatly depends greatly on your point of view. ;)

On whom the joke was, not whom the joke was on. We'll take the language back if you can't use it properly...and leave you with Spanish lol

That aside, I wasn't aware that - even here - the plot of Episode One was open for that much criticism. Overuse of CGI, bad dialogue, no chemistry between the actors, Jar Jar Binks...oh, and not being exactly the way people imagined it to be, down to the last frame, I thought they were the common gripes some people had with the film.

That's some bad hat, Harry

I wasn't expecting the Spanish Inquisition...

Easterhay is for Easterhorses. And my ignore list.

I know I’ve made some very poor decisions recently.

Both are frying my logic circuits.

I just got the call back.  They claim that they have transferred what they say is a 1977 VHS to DVD format and are projecting that.

I'm at a complete loss for words. That's going to be The Worst Thing Ever.

Nothing like projecting a 240i image on a "5 story, 79ft. diameter tilted, domed screen"

I'd love to hear/read people's reactions if that's what they'll end up doing. I'd even go myself if it wasn't literally on the other side of the planet.
Did anyone go to this? We need answers. Did they really show a VHS projected onto a giant screen without first going through the at-least $200 it would cost to convert it to 1080p and 3D?

The funny thing about this is that you're the only one who thinks you did it right.  No one else can see your image because you did it wrong.

What's funny about you using a bad browser/wrong settings? Well, actually, it kinda is, so fail indeed.

I couldn't see the image until I right clicked it, chose "View image", found myself at some other site, and then hit back. The reason you (and anyone else) can see the image on the forum is because you have it cached. No one can see that image until they go to the site that hosts it.
