Nice that they gave the ladies some Ani-candy to look at.

I'm amazed you've coined that term without seeing Hayden in Virgin Territory yet. ;)
Where were you in '77?

So this premiered today. Great set and creatures...but pretty bland overall. Until that last audition anyway. =P

I just got the call back. They claim that they have transferred what they say is a 1977 VHS to DVD format and are projecting that.I'm at a complete loss for words. That's going to be The Worst Thing Ever.
Nothing like projecting a 240i image on a "5 story, 79ft. diameter tilted, domed screen"
looking forward to finding out what they showed.
You know of the rebellion against the Empire?
When did this "May the Fourth" thing start? Was it from the fandom, or some marketing drone at Lucasfilm?
Where were you in '77?
First time I had ever heard of it was from fans. Wasn't until a few years had passed before Lucasfilm started to adopt it.
From star wars.com:
The Prequel Trilogy has incredible music. If you didn't have any knowledge of the films and I played the music for you, you'd think they were amazing.

NINETEEN SEVENTY NINE?! I don't know if that makes me feel better about it, or worse.DominicCobb said:

And so it begins:
Starting with the most classic EU. Fantastic.
I had to look up the guy who wrote the forward. Its the new canon guy. That would be interesting to read. Is is just apologies?

Pablo Hidalgo has been working with Lucasfilm for years. He's a huge EU geek just as Leland Chee is.
I really believe they felt they had to destroy the EU to save it. This new trilogy(The Children) would be impossible to retcon into the existing EU canon. Now that they've been handed the keys to the kingdom their plan is to build from the ashes the official continuity that they don't have to worry about being trampled on by the likes of Lucas as they now approve all content going forward.
Give it a couple years and I'm betting you'll see a majority of the important EU elements labeled canon.
The books still say "Legends" on them. Doesn't this mean they're still not official canon? Or am I misunderstanding what you're getting at?
I think Tobar is referring to the fact that they can reference characters or events from certain books without making the whole book canon.

In the coming years as the new books that are considered canon come out they are going to be filled with references to old EU material thus canonizing those elements in this new continuity.
They take this way too seriously at LFL. I can't believe that people care about canonism that they need to spell it out for every release. Are all the games released now as legends, too? That's ridicilous.
And in the time of greatest despair, there shall come a savior, and he shall be known as the Son of the Suns.

Maggie Thatcher started the Star Wars Day craze!!! OmO
Ol’ George has the GOUT, I see.
Everything published before April 2014 is now labelled Legends. Going forward, everything new whether it be movie, comic, novel or game is a part of the official Star Wars continuity.

*fixed
*over-complicated, more like. =P Note I never said the stories would be canonized, but elements from them.
Cute.
Want it on a birthday card.
VIZ TOP TIPS! - PARENTS. Impress your children by showing them a floppy disk and telling them it’s a 3D model of a save icon.
I like to think that the stitches in this guy's snout
are the result of a crude surgery done after he got into a particularily nasty knife fight.
That's a mask he's wearing. That's very obviously not supposed to be his actual snout.

Yep, so it seems 79 was the first time the pun was made, but 2011 was the first time it became Star Wars day.
I knew it was a recent phenomena so that it started in 2011 isn't surprising, but at the same time you have to wonder why it took 32 years to catch on, right?
Anyway, May 25th is still Star Wars day in my heart. It was so before 2011, and it will continue to be so (even if my friends force me to watch Star Wars on the fourth).
