The more I think about it, the more I want to see Jedi in the ST who use weapons other than lightsabers in battle.

The costume for the new Episode 7 villain needs a lot of work.

Where were you in '77?

Anyone live close enough to check that screening out?

"the scene center will show the 1977 original unaltered version of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope"

I highly doubt that.

Well, it does sound dubious but why would they say it, if it was bull-crap? It says so, even in their official program here: http://www.slsc.org/may-2014-first-friday-star-wars

And it's pretty emphasized that it's the '77 unaltered version.

I really hope they're not planning on projecting the GOUT on the giant screen :D

We should round up a bunch of scoundrels and raid the place afterward.

Harmy's Eleven.

I know I’ve made some very poor decisions recently.

I called the Science Center.  The board meets this morning at 10am central.  They have been given my question about what specific copy they are showing tomorrow night and will discuss how to answer that question during the meeting.  I expect a call from them with that answer sometime this afternoon.

I just got the call back.  They claim that they have transferred what they say is a 1977 VHS to DVD format and are projecting that.  I'm not aware of a 1977 VHS release of that film.  I think what they may have is that earliest version with the cover that doesn't include "New Hope" in the artwork.

A VHS projected on to an Omnimax screen. Well that will certainly be interesting.

Maybe they were able to do a scan that looks better on a bigger screen?  GOUT looks like total shit on my 36" and their screen has to be bigger than mine.

That sounds like an utter disaster.

I'd be surprised if they end up showing the VHS version. Can they seriously think it'll look decent on an Omnimax screen?

You know of the rebellion against the Empire?

It's a DVD that was transferred from VHS.  It seems unlikely to me that they are going to just pop it in and press play, sight unseen. tomorrow night at 10.  Plus they have access to Omnimax technology and (I assume) someone that knows how to use it.  I bet it ends up being a pretty cool event.  Wish I lived slightly closer...

You have got to be kidding. Can't someone here slip them a copy of Puggo Grande or something? ;)

And that ipad thingy looks like a port of an old Playstation One game...

No way, the PS1 TPM games were great. That's just...whatever that is.

Hmm....

The list is about a year old and the only relevant thing to come from it is Rebels. I wonder if the rest is still in development, dummy URLs to throw people off the scent or they're cancelled projects.
