Sorry to hijack my own thread, but does anyone else on here play Battle for Middle Earth besides me? I love this game, can't get enough of it.

Edit: I changed the name of this thread so that we could discuss other PC games. I know there is a video game thread but I wanted a one specifically about PC games. Hope this is allright.

I have it, and enjoyed what I played of it, but it totally crapped out on me about three hours in and no matter what I've tried I can't get it to work again on my PC. That was when it first came out.

And, these days, our graphics card is on the brink of death, with lines on the screen and whatnot. Which sucks, because it cost us a pretty healthy chunk of change.

Amazingly, BFME2 actually works on my computer, though just barely. I have to have the lowest resolution and graphical settings to get it to run, but considering that it's the ONLY game from the past two years to run on this computer besides "The Movies" I think I can forgive that.

It seems pretty fun, but it belongs to a friend of my brother's, and he took it home with him last time he was here. (I don't know why, as it won't even run on his computer) I haven't really had much time with it. The hero unit system is cool, though.

That last PC game I ever played was Jedi Academy, I had nearly beaten it and I uninstalled it because I needed the disk space. Since then I have tried playing it again, and I have tried playing other games but I just can't get hooked like I used to, now after just a short while of playing I get tired of it and feel like reading a book instead. There are all these cool games I want to play but I just can't get into any of them. I must be turning into an old man. Hmmm, I think I'll go sit in my recliner and take a nap.

Back on the topic, anybody ever play any of the Escape Velocity games? There are three of them, first two are Mac only, but they made a port of the third one for PC. That is a game I wish came out when I was in high-school when I had too much time on my hands.

I got the same way with console games. I used to play them all the time but I just got tired of messing with them. So, now all I play is PC games.

Guys, please watch this video compiled of clips from Guild wars and World Of Warcraft. It has "Can't Touch This" playing in the background.
I really do have to say that it is possably the best music vid I have ever seen. The various clips match so well with the song lyrics it is staggering to think about the trouble this person went through to create this work of art. Please watch, you will not regret it. And I am not being sarcastic.

Rome: Total War is the first game in a looooong time that's hooked me. I played that game for weeks. Medieval: Total War 2 is coming out this month, I believe, and that will be one I snatch up big time.

Other than that, Call of Duty is cool, although too easy, and Unreal Tournament '04 is hands-down the best FPS I've ever played, and I've been playing them since the original Doom.

Screw those games!

You know what you should play: DOOM

$10 for Ultimate DOOM, DOOM II, and Final DOOM will get you thousands of fan-made levels and missions beyond your wildest dreams. In fact, DOOM is one of , possibly THE greatest, PC games ever made!

Here's a link to prove my point.

And if it looks too dated, download JDOOM and stock up with high-res models and textures. You can also get MP3 music and sound for the game as well.

No offense but I hate Doom games with a passion. Sorry, just not my kinda games. I love RPG's, MMORPG's and RTS's and that is about all I play.

I play Doom occasionaly on my Atari Jaguar still. It is a great game. Anyone here ever see the TV commercial for Doom for the Jaguar? It was really funny. Ingo Sucks should especially like it, since he is a big Doom fan. I've seen it online before, and I'll have to see if I can find a link to it.

Here is the commercial for the Atari Jaguar version of Doom. It is funny. This site actually has quite a few commercials for lots of systems, past and present., if you are into video games and are interested in that sort of thing.

Anyone play the original Master of Orion? It was a DOS based game that was a space colonozation deal. Very, VERY addictive. You got to choose your race from many different ones, each having their own attributes, etc. Then you had to manage your spending on tech, defense, spying, and such. The graphics were not very good but man the stuff they let you do in game play was hands down the best at the time. Spent months playing that game.

EDIT: Wiki on the game -
