Yeah, if that's what you're talking about, I own a few Knightfall comics. In fact, I have the one that led into Robin #1, although I never managed to get Robin #1.

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

I don't have Robin #1, but I have Superboy #1. Great issue, actually. Superboy was a jerk early on, but he was funny as HFIL.

Probably because Dragon Ball Z finished aring in America three years ago.

Back on topic...

Anyone else think how Batgirl is currently being handled is massively stupid?

Yeah, and then there's this whole Batwoman thing that's starting up. If you ask me, the DCU suffers greatly from 'too many characters' syndrome. So many writers have done all they can to streamline this team: Robin, Huntress, Nightwing, Oracle - can't we just leave it at that? Why can't Barbara be the only (ex-)Batgirl and leave it at that? It seems to me this recent Crisis hasn't really affected anything (except to have writers reboot characters with changes for the sake of changes).

As far as I know, Katie Holmes isn't supposed to come back for "The Dark Knight". I heard Warner Brothers made the decision not to bring her back because of the publicity surrounding her shenanigans with Tom Cruise.
I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an Obi-Wan to go.

Batman just can't keep a girlfriend, can he?

I was so excited that they were utilizing Julie Madison in Batman and Robin, but that was totally wasted. It seems they put her in there to give Bruce an obligatory romance. If you'd edited her out, you never would have missed her.

Same with Katie Holmes in BB really.

Well, she was the District Attorney. You could replace her with another character to fill that roll, but editing her out altogether would make the move a bit less cohesive.

Plus she was teh only attracitive female in the film with a name, so I vote she stays.

So I guess Harvey Dent hadn't come to Gotham yet? Geez, I need to see this movie.

I'm pretty sure that's what they're doing with this one, is having Harvey Dent move in as the new D.A. I wish they hadn't wasted the whole Falcone storyline on the first one, though - because they need the Long Halloween storyline up their sleeve to do a good Two-Face origin story. Then again, Carmine ain't dead yet, so it's always a possibility.

Personally I think Dent should have appeared in "Begins".

I personally don't think Dent should of appeared in Batman Begins. Its too easy to end up with another Billy Dee Williams type setup in Batman that then looks strange when someone else plays him when they get to making the movie with Two-Face as a villian.

I'd like to think they wouldn't make the same mistake twice. I'd have rather seen them build up a friendship between Bruce Wayne/Batman and Dent instead of wasting time on another throwaway girlfriend.

But how good would it be to have Dent transform right at the end of a Batman movie? A cliffhanger ending? In fact, I think they have cast Dent for this film - I'm not sure on that, yet, but I think they have - and I don't think Two-Face is gonna show just yet.

The Billy Dee Williams setup wasn't a terribly good one for a few reasons, and I'm not sure whether they ever intended on using it...but I digress: 1) Williams wasn't the D.A., he was running for Mayor, 2) there was no friendship between Dent, Gordon and Batman (although this may have been a new idea pre-Loeb), 3) 'they' (whoever 'they' is) decided to wait three movies to introduce Two-Face, and of course, we all know number 4) Burton was good, Shumacher was crap, and 'they' (again, the powers that be) should never have allowed him to follow the same continuity...

Well, the Burton movies screwed continuity over royally, what with making the Joker the Wayne-murderer and all. Making Dent run for mayor is pretty much par for the course with Burton.

I read that originally Harvey Dent was supposed to be the villain of "Batman Returns", manipulating the Penguin, sending Selina falling to the "death" that turned her into Catwoman, etc. That would have kind of undermined the tragedy of the good man turned bad though.

I hope they do Dent justice in "Dark Knight".

Yeah. So far the only other (to my knowledge) on-screen appearance of the character has been in B:TAS... And that is considered one of the best interpretations of the character.

You know what? I never watched the Animated Series. Well, I did see one episode with Clayface, but I basically scorned the whole thing because I didn't like the way it was drawn as a child (I didn't like the jawlines, mostly). Now I feel like I missed out on so much...

Seriously. You did. Do yourself a favor and buy or rent the season sets- start at the start as it were. I think if you can get past the jawlines you'll be excellently surprised. Best non-comic book adaptation of Batman IMHO.

Why did Tommy Lee Jones play Two-Face as if he were playing the Joker?

Because Schumacher was an idiot and had no clue whatsover how to direct the Batman mythos.
