I just thought I would tell all you guys this. My daughter wanted to play with my Millenium Falcon. After a long deliberation (LOL..yeah, right), I let her play with it. A few minutes later, I remembered about the missile on the front, and asked my wife to remove it and bring it back to me.

When she brought it, she said "Why is it red? Didn't the good guys fire in green?"

I was soooooo tempted to call her a geek for thinking about that (even though she was wrong. )

And its reversed for saber blades, yes everyone should know that.

GundarkHunter, the line is:
A person is smart. People are dumb. Everything they've ever "known" has been proven to be wrong. A thousand years ago everybody knew as a fact, that the earth was the center of the universe. Five hundred years ago, they knew it was flat. Fifteen minutes ago, you knew we humans were alone on it. Imagine what you'll know tomorrow.
I looked it up.

A saying that I think I made up goes as follows:
The average person is stupid...which means that half the world is more stupid than that.

As I always tell my wife when we run across someone stupid, "Dear, there will always be people at the other end of the bell curve."

Well, here's a testament to my geek factor... I was just interviewed by a local newspaper as a "Star Wars expert." The media relations director here where I work sent my name out in an e-mail to his media contacts and I was called within about an hour. He was going to try to get a picture of me to accompany the article, but it didn't work out. Dang!

That would be the ultimate honor, being interviewed as an expert. I hope there is media at the theater where I see EP3, maybe I'll be so lucky.

I invited the reporter and his photographer to come out to our theater. But he said that the showing would be past his presstime so he would need the photo a little further in advance to make it in the Thursday paper. Damn. I could've had my pic in there.

Wow, cool, a Star Wars expert.

Presumably. I think our media relations director just wanted to have someone here be able to speak and bring a little more attention to us. So he asked if I would do it. I was a bit hesitant at first, but agreed.

did he ask some complex stuff, or basically the "Oh, so this is the last episode, right? And this trilogy actually happens before the old one?"

Bought a 'Han Shoot First' T-Shirt for tomorrow. Let my family know about it, in case the package came while I was at work.
I put the shirt in the laundry on Saturday. Sunday night, my Mom says to me "Oh, Han Shoot First, I get it now."

Not even if I explained to my family in details they would know what "Han Shoots first" means.

Not quite as basic as the question you posted. What he asked were basic opinion questions about the movies and my experiences watching them. Which ones do I like... how did I feel when I saw them again on the big screen... who do I go see them with... am I part of a SW fan community (I mentioned this site, but he was looking for non-online examples of which I'm not a part of).

That sort of stuff.

We shall see on the end result. If it's online, I'll post it here.

You know, this gave me an idea for a thread...

And that thread would be?

BTW, a photog for the newspaper came out and took a ton of photos of me by my truck with a few memorabilia items that I had available in my office. By my truck for two reasons... 1) my boss refused to allow photos of me to be taken in my office with all the stuff scattered around; and 2) my license plate is SW related.

I was going to post the thread on "General Star Wars", but then I saw something that pissed me off and I decided not to enter that section of the forum again - at least not until thursday.

What is your license plate? (only if it's ok for you to say)

One day I'll buy the car wich hapen to have a THX-1138 plate (over here it's 3 letters, 4 numbers, you can only pick the last number)

I tried to get THX-1138 for my cell phone number, but it wasn't available through Verizon.
I also tried 386-3827, but that wasn't available either.
(and if you cannot tell me what that is, you should be ashamed...)

Okay, I'll bite.

What about this (Not SW Related)

Scale 4 on the geekometer: I took some speakers and plugged them in at my computer at the office, inserted my X-Wing vs Tie-fighter CD, and played the Imperial March when the project manager got into the room.

Chaltab, that definitely counts. But it's a cool name. I want to get a dog and name him Pippin (but that's geeky for a whole other movie series).

Starkiller, 386-3827... I know it but I don't think I'm going to be describing it properly... it's the location code for the garbage compactor on the detention level where Luke, Han, Leia, and Chewie are stuck. Luke tells Threepio to release the door seals on that unit after Artoo stops the masher.

Ric, what did everyone do when you played that?

My license plate has BOSSK in it. At the time I bought my truck, I was either going to use BOSSK or FELIX (the Cat). The DMV gave me BOSSK. Only two people in the eight years that I've owned my truck have figured out what my plate meant. Nobody else has had a clue.

Bossk: everyone got the joke and laughed. She - project manager - asked me if I was mentally sane. I said "no", and that was the end of it.
