OpEd is "Opinions and Editorials" -- where people express opinions and personal inflection. I asked because your article had a lot of opinion and other types of first-person references (I, me, we) which are typically avoided in what newspapers refer to as "objective news reporting" (reporting without giving your personal bias on an issue - which is seemingly more rare as time goes by).

i'm kinda wondering what they could be confused about...

however i think they might need Jay's permission for me quoting him..

Rock on. You should go in the petition every so often and count how many new sigs are added from your area after the article is published. It would be cool to know how many there are as a result of the article.
