Hello everyone.

In honor of the 40th Anniversary of the initial Godfather, AMC has been broadcasting the Godfather movies this whole week. To my surprise, I learned that today they are broadcasting the Godfather Saga Extended Version… restored in FULL HD using the new Coppola Restorations! I’ve been watching these broadcasts all morning and they look fantastic; plus, they have great-looking deleted scenes inserted as well (not sure if they’re the same ones as on the BD). The custom credits (opening and credits) for each “episode” of the saga are presented in better quality than I’ve ever seen them. I had no idea that they would ever consider making such a restoration of this version.

Each episode will be shown twice today. Is anyone planning to cap this in HD? I know ModernKnife has his edit out here but an HD version of this would be fantastic.

Ha!

I was about to ask if anyone is capping this. I've always wanted to see this version and now I'm currently watching it in HD. It looks great! I do hope this gets a blu-ray release down the line!

I'm capping it. :)

I also capped the opening from Godfather 3 which was COMPLETELY different. It's a 15 minute flashback montage of the first two films, intercut with "older Michael" from the very end of 2.

Ooh! That sounds fantastic. YOU ARE A GODSAVE!

What quality are you capping it in, may I ask?

Forgive me again for being forward, but would you mind sharing it on a torrent on myspleen or something?

I always capture it with the highest settings with the Hauppauge. I have no idea how many gigs it's going to be for the total thing. I'm going to assume around 20-30. That's going to take forever to torrent. I don't know WHAT I'm going to do with it, once I have it.

Good. That's great.

Ohhh... I see your problem. I'd be willing to seed a large torrent like that for about 2 or 3 weeks if necessary but I can understand the sheer trouble of trying to find something to do with it. If you do do something with it, I'm always interested.

Wow great news. I've never seen this version, but I'd love to see it once it's upped! Any chance on seeing this upped on Demonoid? Last year I watched the Coppla restorations in glorious HD on my telle and showed them to a friend of mine who had never seen them before! He loved the movies, I'm sured he'd love to see this version!! I was really impressed by the BD quality (my TV cust through the grain like butter so that was no issue).

The good thing is the movies were split into parts, may I suggest one part at a time? Anyway, thank you for capping this.
