Force Unleashed Vader's Apprentice Gets a Name (spoilers)

It is Starkiller, it has been official announced.

I have to say this is extremely lame since kotor already used the name bendak starkiller.

Seems to be turning either into a pretty common last name or name even if the characters are not related.

Again Lucas screws with EU continuity, but who cares about that the continuity of the oot and the prequels continuity has also been changed in force unleashed and the new clone wars movie on a whim.

It is funny that force unleashed is in the george lucas canon since he worked on the story and it is official in between episode III and IV, but Kotor is not G Canon and Lucas does not care whether it exists or not.

Kotor was better than the prequels story wise, and will still be closer to the oot than the force unleashed.

Oh that's horrible.

I know it's a name in early star wars drafts that was never really used for the films, and that Lucas loves to go back and re-use old ideas but I just never really liked it.

It's just too similar to Skywalker - in a BAD way. But then I've never been expecting this game to be very good so I shouldn't get too bothered.

Not to mention that there were two characters, Pashna and Banor Starkiller, in Star Wars Galaxies. And get this, they weren't related. One was a Mon Calamari, and the other was a Rodian. That's 4 separate, most likely unrelated characters with the same name.

I have very low expectations for this game, so I'm not too excited. I don't see it being a great game, but I do see it screwing up continuity. Oh, well. They are pushing it too hard, and I don't see that as being a good sign.

Starkiller is the new "Smith."

I'm taking a wait and see attitude with this game. The constant delays don't fill me with confidence.

I dunno about you but in fact the constant delays are giving me hope LucasArts will in fact prioritise and put back on track the Indiana Jones video game. Yes, you read correctly. I care more about another Indiana Jones game being released instead another gamut of Star Wars shit. Franchise fatigued big time.
You know what? Fuck this game. Give me a KotOR III instead and another Indiana Jones game.

Delays? wasn't it meant to be out over a year ago? - Remember! when star wars turned 30...

Jim Henson had a 'wait and see' attitude and now we have wrong sounding Muppets ;)

I'd much rather see an indy game than another terrible star wars cash cow.

I'm all for a new Indiana Jones game as long as it does not suck like Indiana jones 4.

Lucasarts waited too long for Kotor III.

Now that Bioware is involved in a much better and original franchise mass effect trilogy, Kotor III would have to be from the makers of part 2 which sucked.

I thought Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull didn't suck. Oh, wait. I'm not a typical Star Wars fanboy who bashes everything under the LucasFilm Ltd. banner anyway. I consider the Indiana Jones and Star Wars series different matters and shouldn't be compared directly with one another.
Ever heard of Labyrinth, Tucker: The Man and His Dream, WILLOW and some others?
Seems to me I could care less about all this "OOT", "SE", "GOUT" and "2004" shite. Give me Indiana Jones anyday over Star Wars and I'm one happy cave monkey. Yes, you heard/read me correctly. I'm more of a fan of Indiana Jones compared to Star Wars.
How about another Monkey Island game?
Yes, I'm having the old "Franchise Fatigue" with Star Wars. So I may or may not rent The Force Unleashed for my 360. I'd in fact buy the next Indiana Jones 3D game though.
LucasArts just needs to realise they have other properties besides Star Wars in their shit. Including the aforementioned Monkey Island. KotOR I & II were sure as frak alot superior comparing to TPM and AotC. And RotS? I thought it was damn good. I enjoyed it. Yes, I actually enjoyed a PT film!
So, since I'm suffering "Franchise Fatigue" with SW, I'm only looking forward towards the live-action TV series and a possibly/unlikely KotOR III.
I haven't played Mass Effect yet. Planning on it. Not definite but I'll get around to it.

i just read that LucasArts just laid off 200 employees in favor of outsourcing, Since Jim Ward steeped down and some guy who headed EA took over.

George Lucas is a billionaire and had to let 200 people go for his profit margin. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ , greedo must have shot first i mean greed, LOL

Perhaps I shall rent this for my 360. More half-assed about it though. Don't care either.
As long as Indiana Jones gets back on the fast track of actually being a game instead of tech demo, I couldn't care less. LucasArts needs to prioritise the other properties under their banner other than Star Wars. Perhaps a fifth Monkey Island game or a sequel to Grim Fandango?

I remember reading some time ago that Lucas employed people to check over proposed novelisations of Star Wars to check things like continuity and such. I'm sure that if Lucasarts had something similar then this product wouldn't have gotten any further than "hey wouldnt it be cool if?"

Yes, star wars is a sure fire money maker but these guys used to release great and varied games that you just don't see anymore. That's the sad part.
