For those who don’t know its a fanscript of Revenge of the Sith (before it was Revenge of the Sith) written in the 80s by John L. Flynn about Obi-Wan and Anakin when they were young, alongside the Rise of the Empire fall of the Jedi and etc.
It left me cold. It’s better than ROTS, but that’s a low bar to clear. I don’t know who these characters are or what motives them because Flynn provides no context. He should’ve penned an entire PT treatment instead of providing this big nothing burger.

The opening with Anakin finding the Kaiburr crystal on the volcanic planet kinda reminds me of how TRoS opens with Kylo finding the wayfinder on mustafar, funny enough.

I remember some magazine interviewing Flynn and actually thinking this would be the prequel movies. Can’t remember if it was cinescape or sci fi universe, one of those magazines that always had wild stories of movies and scoops that almost never came to be accurate. They weren’t exactly Starlog. I think Mark Altman and Robert Meyer Burnett came out of that scene.
I remember liking it, and thought the mythos around it was cool, more than the fact the author did this as a Christmas gift for some of his friends.
Then another friend made copies and started selling it?

I had fond memories of this, probably due to the legends and rumours around it. There were a few other fan-lore stores that had some solid concepts and ideas, and some read quite well, although that could be looking through some rose tinted glasses.
