C’mon the RedMen - and good luck to Marseilles too - superb atmosphere in the Velodrome yesterday 😃

Arsenal vs Atletico should be a clash of styles.

Hope they find a good & strong ref for the Real vs Bayern game…

I find that answer vague and unconvincing. Why don’t you knock it off with them negative waves?
Why don’t you dig how beautiful it is out here? And say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

I’m rooting against Real with all of my strength. I want a different team to win the Champions League ffs.

3 in a row would be a bit much - and they’ve won enough of these things already!

(It’d also be nice if a team outside Spain win it too)

Who do you support, Collipso?

Milan. I also somewhat support Liverpool and Manchester United. (there’s something about the red)

Who do you support, jason? My guess would be Liverpool but who knows…

Your guess is correct 😃

I hope Milan make it back into the Top 4 next season under Gattuso, and that the owners free up a little more cash to help that happen. Your club has some great friendly fans, and what a team they were to watch back in the day.

Edit: Arsene Wenger will leave Arsenal at the end of the current season… (22 years managing a club as big as them - all doing it in his style of passing football (and wining a lot of trophies along the way) - fair play, that man.

Aye, a quality match and cracking atmosphere - as ever Liverpool have to make it harder for ourselves - yet what a display 😄

Fair play to Roma for hanging on in and getting a couple of goals back - makes it interesting for the 2nd leg considering what Roma did to Barcelona in the previous round…

Hope Bayern Munich do well vs Real Madrid in the other semi-final Wednesday night 😃

I really don’t get Klopp’s decision to substitute Salah when 20 minutes were still to be played. Great game anyway, again an insane number of goals scored.

Now… Mia san Mia !

Disappointing result that… and the game was somewhat disjointed and peppered with mistakes, yet still a decent watch and chances at both ends…

In the Europa League semi-finals (1st leg), on Thursday night…

Arsenal 1-1 Atletico Madrid, highlights here - https://hdmatches.com/2018/04/26/video-arsenal-vs-atletico-madrid-full-match-highlights/
Marseilles 2-0 RB Salzburg, highlights here - https://hdmatches.com/2018/04/26/video-marseille-vs-salzburg-full-match-highlights/

Arsenal messed that up - playing vs 10 men for 80 minutes and to then concede an away goal like they did… going to be very difficult for them to get the required result next week…

Marseilles are looking good, though Salzberg did create some chances and were a little unlucky not to score -
going on the highlights.

Semi-Final 1 (2nd leg)…

Real drew with Bayern Munich 2-2 in tonight’s semi-final… with Real going through to the Final (4-3 on aggregate)

http://www.fullmatchesandshows.com/2018/05/01/real-madrid-vs-bayern-munich-highlights-full-match-video/

Absolute cracking game - Bayern went to the very end - could have had a couple of penalties, and looked capable of scoring throughout - Real looked menacing on the counter…

Semi-Final 2 (2nd leg)…

Liverpool lose 4-2 away to Roma but still go through to the Final… winning 7-6 on aggregate overall 😃

‘No Filter UCL’ by BT Sport - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TqUqtwAQnC0 (5 mins)

Some quite poor refereeing in this one - for both sides, yet another pulsating and end-to-end match littered with chances and goals! Roam really went for it, took a lot of risks - coming close - thankfully Liverpool’s effective counter-attack saw the mighty Reds through…

a couple of fan videos from the game - both Liverpool and Roma…

The Final - Real Madrid vs Liverpool - is on Saturday 26th May, 7.45pm kick off (UK time) - played in Kiev, Ukraine.

Should be a cracker - don’t think it will be a boring 0-0 draw either… 😉

Good luck to Marseille in the Europa League Final tonight, vs Atletico 😃

Should be a decent game this, especially if Marseille can get the opening goal and force Atletico to come out and play…

Not sure if it’s gonna be that decent. Both teams are used to play rough and Atletico knows how to defend. But I agree, if OM scores first, then it can be fun. With the violent rivalry between both Olympique (Marseille v Lyon), it’s even funnier the final takes place in Lyon stadium 😃

OM v Reds in UEFA super cup final !

Really felt for Marseille there - the fans put on a great show and looked they had a fantastic time (up 'till the game), and certainly didn’t deserve to lose that 3-0. Man, that early chance that fell to Marseille’s Germain…

I hope Payet will be okay for the World Cup - that injury didn’t look too good.

Fair play to Atletico - they are a machine that sucks the life of an opponent better than Dracula ever could. Though not great to watch, fair play to them for being such an organised defencive outfit in this modern era of the game where everything is seemingly set up towards the attacking aspects/play.

Though I wanted to Marseille to win, a part of me is quite happy that Torres leave his boyhood club with a trophy in his final few matches for them.

(The Super Cup between our two sides would have made for a great attacking game, Mala 😃 I hope we get the chance to beat Atletico for you in it… 😉)

Payet is out for the World Cup. The guy lost a final and his place in the WC squad in one evening; bad luck always rings twice 😕

Marseille was good for about 20 minutes, and then this terrible error by Mandanda-Anguissa… and 10 minutes later, Payet injured and out. The game was lost and out of reach in only 10 minutes. That’s football ! But the fact is Marseille has never won a single game this year against a top team: not a single win against PSG, Monaco or Lyon this year national competitions. And Atletico is about this quality level (between PSG and Lyon I would say), so it was a long shot only possible with strong realism and a bit of luck. Germain got scared by Oblak and failed at scoring the first goal that would have changed the entire game, and luck was against OM, so in the end 3-0 is a fair price. Griezmann got his first major trophy, and Gameiro is now fourth time Europa League winner… just hope Benzema doesn’t get a fourth european gold medal as well this month (we don’t like Benzema in France, good player but a terrible behavior).

France is still blocked with only one C1 and one C2 (but we have plenty of useless C4… the Intertoto Cup, not the explosive)… and yet we invented C1 😄

Most of us don’t use that term in the US anymore lol.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._John's_Red_Storm

Prior to the 1994–95 school year, the university’s nickname was the St. John’s Redmen, which referenced the red uniforms worn by its teams in competition. The name was interpreted as a Native American reference in the 1960s, and the university did have a mascot (adorned in Native American dress), which eventually led to the team’s name change to the Red Storm. The change happened at a time when there was mounting pressure on colleges and universities to adopt names more sensitive to Native American culture.

Respect to Madrid - they were the better side overall, just - and what a goal from Bale. The depth of the Madrid squad really made a difference in this game (especially after a long hard season for both the clubs).

Unfortunately, the 2 other goals may haunt the Liverpool goalie (Karius) for a long time to come - I hope it doesn’t - though that’s a tough ask to come back from. Right now, as a fan, that hurts - though fair play to him to come to the fans at full-time to apologise and ask for forgiveness. That takes bottle.

I hope Salah’s injury isn’t as bad as first thought - and he recovers in time for World Cup.

As for Ramos - what a ****.

Ramos on Salah 25 mins (he knew what he was doing, dragging Salah’s arm to the ground like that and falling on it) - https://www.clippituser.tv/c/aqygap & https://www.clippituser.tv/c/vxgvzy & https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6keapf

Sergio Ramos laughing after injuring Mohamed Salah and watching Salah be subbed off injured - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOJl4_mq9fY

Ramos hitting Karius with elbow to face on 49 mins (ref not interested) - https://streamable.com/i60jl & https://twitter.com/68bor/status/1000484828662427648?s=21

Ramos feigns injury to try and get Man booked / sent off on 53 mins - https://twitter.com/JackTer11093393/status/1000501100905226241 & https://twitter.com/iamsk994/status/1000491047972163584 & https://twitter.com/FCBarcelonaHQ/status/1000468161119031297

For far too long he gets away with incidents like that.

I don’t think Liverpool players are going to be no longer be referred to as Redmen (the colour of the kit they’ve worn for over 100 years) by their fans due to an interpretation in the US on an insensitive term referring to Native Americans used in a completely different context.

Though thanks for the info, 23 years eh? Most progressive 😉
