Agreed. The corona isn't constant - it fades, almost cloudlike, farther from the blade.

That debatable. Much of the second half of ROTS has alot of solid coronas with drop offs. However, I am pretty pleased with the look of the blade I am using now. I may add one more layer of color and make it almost transparent, but not likely. I will have to see how the video looks on screen.

Just as a color/corona reference: cut-n-pasted Anakin's saber-blade into the blank frame. Hope it helps some.

Well, until I upgrade to Adobe 7.0, the ANH fixes are on hold. However, I am half way through fixing this scene in ROTJ that annoys the bloody hell out of me. Luke's saber in ROTJ is the way it's supposed to look. It has that contrast and sharpness that the PT eventually shows. The green saber in ROTJ is wonderfully done. Except, when quality control take a nap and the refuse to notice the missing of the white core. So, without having to fix the glow on Luke's saber, all it needs is a white core and Viola! Vader's saber, on the other hand, still dances from pink to red. A couple of places will need color corrected, but in the cross scene, it looks fine when the core is added. A few screen caps for ya.

Vader's core is a bit thick and i can't see Palpy's "slugs" which is a good thing.

1) Plapy's slugs *are* still there

2) Vader's core *is* a bit wide, and is still off-color compared to Luke's.

Vader's core is a bit wide because he is still swinging down, where as Luke has halted a bit. Also, if you think THAT is off color, wait until you see the scene before it.

And yes, the slug is still there. I haven't got the sabers fixed yet, so I am leaving the hood for last as I can simple past a non-slugged edge of each frame in a matter of minutes.

This is later on, about half way through the scene, where both blades become more 'stationary'.

But your rotoscoped one looks like you just slapped a couple white bars on the picture...that's all ...

I like that. Only thing I would adjust is the blue tint. I think it's a touch to far towards the purple side. And once start down the purple side, forever will it....

Luke's looks excellent but Vader's needs a good fixing.

Notice in this shot that the contrast has been touched up a bit and the Emperor's slugs have been erased.

Looks great.
Don't forget: with Lacuna, you can forget.

Right, but even watching it on my TV I can't see the slugs if I have the picture configured right. However, the slugs are still there.

Has anyone corrected the bit where Obi-Wan's lightsaber "goes out".

The first one looks okay, it could do with some improvement.

It's nice to see people contributing, alteast to show that (even if they aren't perfect) they are atleast somewhat correctly colored, something LFL just straight up chose not to do. I don't understand how you can invent some idea like the lightsaber, and then not know how to do it 30 years later.
