hehe.  Just curious.  I'm always making sure I don't get the shopping trolley mixed up with the pram.  Someone ought to make a Brit/Yank dictionary.

:-) thats duplex 0's job

I stumbled in here to see what's up, and apparently I am. I make lists, not dictionaries, and I'm fairly certain I usually can't understand what you Brits are talking about anyway.

It took me a few minutes once to realize that Ady wasn't talking about drinking shots and getting angry, he was talking about drinking shots and getting drunk.

Sadly, when I first started reading the Harry Potter books, I got all confused thinking "Is that a wizard thing or just a Brit thing?"  But I got it figured out.  Me thinks.

Ok, back on topic.

Any thoughts about FIFA stopping instant replay inside the games?  There has been talk of instituting an instant replay for official review next cup.  These two actions seem contradictory if you ask me.

I think nothing should change until this Cup is over.  Rules at the start of a competition should not change during the competition.  However, after this Cup is over, they should definitely do some kind of replay, at least for goal/non-goal calls.

I also like the idea of adding a second referee, just like they did in hockey.

And it is not like these reviews will take a lot of time.  The ref or refs just run to the side, watch the review and take a second to confer and then game on.  It wouldn't take any more time than it takes to fall down with a fake injury.

Actually that takes longer, because they have to roll around on the ground, get an MRI, and pick out a burial plot before they can get back up.

I believe it is another major tournament.  Perhaps confined to Europe.

do you mean they are thinking stopping the showing of replays on the screens inside the stadiums?  Yeah, that makes no sense to me.  What good could it possibly do?

I agree, they need more refs and instant reply should be in all sports.
