It's a good idea but with respect to your hard work the execution falls short of that idea.
Ideally you should isolate the characters from the backgrounds and extend the backgrounds to remove the speech bubbles and the character elements and then match the audio to the characters in limited motion over the liberated background plates.
Just rolling the point of view over the comic gives us the worst of both worlds, one is tempted to read the comic but distracted by the audio of vice versa.
We don't have to read what we can hear or we don't need to hear what we can read.
Also if the project is meant as a homage to the comic adaptations using images from elsewhere (weirdly photoshopped stills, promotional images etc) breaks that purpose.
This is where the isolation of the character elements from the background comes in because where you don't have the necessary composition you can create it by mixing character elements and backgrounds from other comic frames (including the other Goodwin strips).
As I say it's a good idea and it deserves a second try. Thanks for sharing this with us.
