I believe some have said they tried shooting against a green screen and inserting it into a prequel scene but it looked awful. Just confirming that technology hasn’t improved since then to the point that this would be viable.

I think it was about placing oneself into the prequels with FX work.
I know I’ve made some very poor decisions recently.

This assumes that Anakin is the only bad part of the prequels. I don’t think any amount of green screen masking can fix the prequels.
The dream scenario would be to replace Anakin with an actor who can deliver better dialogue and use the title crawls and alien subtitles to tell a better story. In my head, Anakin should be a young adult played by the same actor throughout the trilogy.
Again, this assumes Hayden Christiansen is the downfall of the prequels. Personally I think it’s the story line and the visual execution. There isn’t much that is tangible once you get beyond TPM.
