Pac Man is the best! Well, maybe Ms. Pac-Man too.

TIE Fighter and X-Wing are the best. I would love to hear TIE Fighter's original score arranged and performed by an orchestra. It sucked that the Windows remake cut out the music and replaced it with recycled John Williams cues. Jedi Knight was also pretty fun, recycled cues or no.

Yes, those were very cool games. Too bad now we get crap like that shoot-em'-up ROTS game. *sniff*

My favorite game ever was Dark Forces. I was a bit disappointed by Dark Forces II, I liked Kyle being the Han Solo mercenary type, thought it felt more like a part of the Star Wars universe that was seperate from Luke Skywalker Jedi Knight. Though it was still pretty cool using a light saber and force powers. I really liked Jedi Knight II though, but Jedi Academy was a bit too easy. Wish they would make another game with the mercenary/freelance spy feel to it. One reason I liked Shadows of the Empire so much. One game that I hated at first but grew on me was Episode I racer. Yeah, I know it is just a stupid stupid marketing thing, but when given the chance, some friends, and lots of caffine, it can be fun staying up late and passing the controllers around.

However can't really be compared to the likes of X-Wing, Tie Fighter or any of the classics.

By the way, I used to own the floppy version of X-Wing, and about a year ago I bought the collector's cd-rom version from ebay, does anybody know if the cd-rom version has the expansion packs on it or not?

Xwing and Tiefighter were both amazing. Also enjoyed the side scrollers for SNES. I loved that original Star Wars arcade game when I was pretty little, I used to play that while my parents bowled at the local lane.

I quite enjoy the most recent OT arcade game...they have it at the Pittsburgh Dave and Busters...its kind of like a better version of Rebel Assault...pretty easy though.

Other than that, I've only really played KOTOR and KOTOR2 (and enjoyed both despite the kind of weak/rushed ending for 2)...I'd like to play some more of the recent (read: last 5 years or so) games, but I'm not sure which are decent or worth my time - any advice?

There was a Phantom Menace pinball table some time ago, that was pretty neat, did you guys see that?

Yes and YES- I wandered into a bar once that had that game and I was HOOKED for at least an hour. Subject matter of the game aside it was just a great blend of pinball and newer-tech game play. Good call ric!!

If we're talking old "skool", I used to love the Atari version of Empire Strikes Back. You were a snowspeeder, which was basically just a rectangle, and you kept passing the same legless AT-AT over and over again, and you'd have to fire at the blinking parts, which were "weaknesses" in the armor. So basic, but so awesome at the time.

The ROTJ arcade game was great too. You sat down in it and you were Luke on a speeder bike trying to evade Biker Scouts and Ewok traps. And if you passed that level you went on to be the Falcon dodging rafters in the Death Star II's superstructure. I can still hear the intro with Han saying "Parts and technical group, forest moon." And Vader saying "Leave them to me. I will deal with them myself."

Anybody else remember those? Or am I a 25-year-old geezer?

I absolutely loved that pinball game. The one that had the interactive video game screen in the back of it?

Also, there was an arcade podracer game where you sat i nthe pod and actually used the dual sticks to steer, like in the movie. Anybody else remember this one?

Yes exactly, that was the one pinball machine. It's very neat.

I did play that arcade podracer on the very same day I've played the Phantom Menace pinball. I had my little "Anakin" moment that day at the arcades

I have also played that Data East Star Wars pinball machine. I belive I still own a local videogame magazine from about 1992 or 1993 with 4 pages dedicated to that pinball...
