Ironic considering most of those involved didn't really want to be there.

Hmn aparently I'm the only one who mentioned Henry Mancini. A forgotten genius perhaps?
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

Even though it wasn't a movie, I really enjoyed Joel McNeely's "Shadows of the Empire" soundtrack.

Also worth noting is the "Requiem for a Dream" remix. I believe it was featured in the LOTR:TTT theatrical trailer.

Speaking of Requiem for a Dream, that movie easily has the best sound track I have ever heard. Clint Mansell is a genius, and he has a lot to live up to in his future movies. If anyone hasn't seen Requiem for a Dream, I'd highly recommend it. If only to hear the music. The movie itself is brilliant though.

It's really a great movie.

I thought Klaus Badelt's "Pirates of the Caribbean" score was perfect. It was awesomely swashbuckle-y.

Two more that I really like and listen to regularly are John Ottman's score for "The Usual Suspects" and David Arnold's "Stargate."

I always get a kick out of really good music in really crappy movies, like Christopher Young's "Species" and John Debney's "Cutthroat Island."

Yeah, the score for The Usual Suspects was great. Stargate had a pretty good one aswell.

I can't believe still forgot one of all time favorites from what is imho the greatest western ever made: High Noon. That soundtrack makes the movie what is it.

some others, Star Trek I and II, Back the Future, Schindler's List, The Pink Panther, The Natural, Rudy, and The High and Mightly (before it was just released on DVD, all ever had of the movie was the soundtrack).

FuriKuri? I have that soundtrack. But it's not as good as Evangelion's - which I happen to have every single one of them...! Even though there are 300 gazillion different versions of "Fly me to the Moon".

Oh, and another good anime soundtrack is Cowboy Bebop. I'd like to buy the white box with every single musical bit from the show, but unfortunally I have to work for money, and I gotta spend it on other things such as rent and food, instead of really important things like obscure unknown imported anime soundtracks.

i'm hoping john williams does the score for the next harry potter, never seen the movies or read the books but i will listen to any soundtrack by mr. williams. I was very saddened when Jerry Goldsmith died last year, as his star trek music was the best.

I love Thomas Newman. I have Shawshank Redemption and Road to Perdition, highly recommend both of them.

I did consider, since it's unavailable here and not exactly illegal, but as the CDs are unavailable so are the MP3s. No where to find those.
