Gorgeous photos and illustrations!
Now if only some enterprising person would invent the technology necessary to convert oral conversations into written text form!!!!!
Guess I'm just a dreamer, too...
I'd never really heard much about him before but man! He was incredibly integral for inspiring the classic ship designs we all know and love. Definitely deserves more recognition for his work!

Thanks for sharing! I'm eager to check this out... but at a glance does anyone else see a one-eyed sand person here...
^Yes, I sees its ... I sees its a lots.
Definitely my immediate reaction too.
I found it very interesting that Cantwell’s concept model for the Millennium Falcon eventually got turned into the Corellian Corvette. Uncle George must have liked that one a lot.
One thing I like about the Star Wars saga are the planets, especially the ones wet with rain, hahaha! Kamino, Eadu, and Ach-To - all three of them have enormous amounts of rain, it seems. 😃
RIP Colin Cantwell.
He had input and designs for so many fantastic and memorable ships for Star Wars.

The Imperial need for control is so desperate because it is so unnatural. Tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle. Oppression is the mask of fear.

That is such a cool and engrossing interview.
I love that we got to finally see the Cantwell Criuser in all its glory in Andor.
I know we got a “blink and you’ll miss it” scene featuring it in Solo (and in a deleted scene), but we really got to see this beautiful ship up close and in detail in Andor.
Plus, it was a pretty memorable scene too!
If you haven’t seen the Andor scene yet, it can be viewed in this 3+ minute here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJOoyrIbdHU

That design was the Millennium Falcon for most of the time making the movie; the switch only happened late when it was decided that it resembled the ships in Space 1999 too much. That’s why the Tantive IV model is so big and detailed despite barely being in the film: Until they swapped out the cockpit (which radically changed the intended scale of the model), it was intended to be the Millennium Falcon and would have been in a lot of closeup shots.
