Let's keep outside drama to a minimum. Some have been lurking here to feed their comments about us for a while, but it's not really worth the time to engage them. I doubt they're after serious debate.
From what I've been reading over at MF.com, a few of them have burned some serious bridges in the fandom lately with their shenanigans. It gave me a whole new perspective on things around here.

It's probably not doing these forums much good recycling the ancient content (though the most recent posts are 2014) of those forums but I hadn't read it before.
To summerise they spend most of the time repeatedly calling Ady rude names for their amusement which becomes tired very quickly. Once in a while someone says something positive which is quickly ignored for more insult space.
The instigator reveals a PM where Ady apologises for his part of the argument siting the stress of the illness and death of his parents for his reaction side by side with his reply where he says it's all water under the bridge. Next few posts and they are mocking the death of his parents.
Classy.
On the whole there is a lack of comprehension of the idea behind his edit and fan-edits in general.
For me the most illustrative part of their discussion was :

It's an alien creature. In a non-profit, fan made alternative edit, it's totally justified to make a terrestrial lizard look more alien.
Think it through guys it's not that difficult.
In the official release it's irksome that you don't get a choice of which version you pay cash for.

Oh, they're capable of thinking it through, they just don't want to. It's hard to hold onto hatred for "Lucas bashers" once you decide to let objectivity slip into your thought processes.
To be honest when I read the title I assumed it was a bizarre bit of boy band trouble. That's how my mind works... what's their excuse? :-D
I'm in shock at reading the back and forth between Adywan and that Makingstarwars individual. Posting to vent my anger mostly.
Adywan is a really respected member of the community with serious editing skills. He's been making fan edits for years that people have enjoyed. This Makingstarwars guy shows up within the last year and suddenly behaves like an expert and authority. I wouldn't be surprised if 3 years ago you asked him what his favorite series was and he'd say Harry Potter.
He obviously has a few connections within the Lucasfilm or Disney production line which gives him enough access to make his little teaser site. But his disrespectful attitude towards another hardcore star wars fan is terrible. I guess when he moves on to Dragonball or another popular series this will all be forgotten.

I'm glad to hear that Adywan and the Makingstarwars guy patched it up in the later posts of that thread. I didn't read through all of it, that first page was pretty infuriating.
