I may not particularly love the film, but I always felt that Alien 3 was a flawed mess that had a hint of a good film shining through. What I would like to see is an "ultimate cut" with every single shred of film (there are still pieces and scenes that were unused for the workprint, as mentioned by Charles De Laurizika [sp?]) incorporated into the picture, plus a director's commentary by David Fincher.

Please.

what was different in the theatrical version of GB2?

At the end of the version shown in theatres, Slimer comes out from behind the Statue of Liberty and goes right into the camera (as he did at the end of the first film). The video version just ends with a pan up to the statue's head, then, a fade to black.

Two attempts by Louis to capture Slimer. The first involved several Kentucky Fried Chicken legs strung up to the firehouse ceiling. Slimer comes out and grabs a leg, and Louis pushes the button for the trap. The light comes out, but Slimer floats out of the way and the ceiling collapses, falling on Louis' desk. The second attempt involves Louis carrying a proton pack and faking a pizza delivery (“Oh, hello, Pizza Man! Oh, two larges! I only ordered one. Oh, pepperoni and pineapple. I guess I'll have to eat these both by myself”.) Slimer floats down from the ceiling, and Louis tries to shoot him with the proton pack. Slimer flies away, and the beam flies towards Janine carrying a stack of files, who casually steps aside of the beam.

Many scenes that were shown in theatres back in 1989 were cut when it was released on home video.

I propose a complete reedit of Ghostbusters, one that incorporates all of the deleted scenes on the DVD and then something that would require a lot of work. The Busting montage includes the scene that follows the capturing of Slimer scene. The montage would have to be totaly redone so this scene could be shown as it was intented.

It would be great if the full scene in which Winston and Ray meet the ghost at the Fort could be found because then the dream version of that scene could be removed from the montage segment and the scene where Ray and Winston are discussing doomsday could be put back to its correct placement which is, before the Fort scene.

Likewise does anyone know if any of the deleted scenes from Ghostbusters II exist? It would be great to incorporate scenes that exist in the trailer that are not in the film rearrange the montage and separate the scenes that existed as entities of their own. Also taking the shots over the end credits that were also unused in the final product.

I would even go so far as to want to utilize a technique used in such restoration projects as Fritz Lang’s Metropolis where pictures were used in segments where the film no longer existed. For the comic book adaptation of Ghostbusters II many if not all of the original scenes, as they were shot and originally intended to be seen in the movie, are faithfully put to paper.

I was thinking more about it. I would like to see a good cut of Batman Forever. There were moments (not many mind you), but if Batman and Robin can be made watchable, I don't see why Forever couldn't.

I have been reading The Evil Dead Companion and have come up with an idea.......

BOOK OF THE DEAD

A reconstruction of the first showing in Detroit 15th October 1981. with the OAR of 1.33:1, the original Mono soundtrack and no tweaks to the original film (see dvdcompare for notes). i am hoping someone would be intrested to jump aboard this. i was thinking of also changing the title to BOOK OF THE DEAD in both the start and end credits. these were the only changes before the film was released in cinemas. In The Evil Dead Companion, there is a text commentary by Bruce Campbell as they explain the overall story of Evil Dead. i was thinking of including this as subtitle track during the movie as it is full of intresting facts and jokes. llots of good material there! I was also hoping to include a good quality copy of Within The Woods as a special feature. I know there is floating round here somewhere!

I can supply the following

Evil Dead - Original 1.33:1 Ratio, taken from the OOP Elite DVD. no changes to SFX it is missing one shot however of the lightning hitting the tree. This shot can be found on the Widescreen DVD and in Fullscreen on the R2 UK Evil Dead Trilogy boxset. I have read that the original AB disc (the one with 5 cover designs) has a better picture but i can't confirm this as i have not seen it.

Evil Dead - Japanese Laserdisc Preservation. the original untouched mono soundtrack! recorded onto DVD+R

A photocopy of the Evil Dead Companion section for the Bruce Campbell notes on the original film.

Just an idea though. i would do this myself but i don't have the time or resources to put this together.

So essentially, one would just have to sync the audio, put in the missing shot and change the titles? That shouldn't be too hard.

I'd love to see this, so I'd be happy to take a crack at it.

I wish someone would take the French (and only) DVD of KILLING ZOE Director's Cut and add English subtitles for the French-language sequences. Of course, the theatrical version could be utilized for the correct subtitles.

That is all.
definitely. I didn't know there was a director's cut of KZ

Hi there,

I would like to request a dual layer preservation project of the original Grease theatrical release with the original Paramount opening title put back in along with the original mono soundtrack synced to the new special edition anamorphic transfer replacing that god-awful surround sound treatment the film was given in all prints since 1998.

Thanks in advance to anyone willing to take on this project. I would along with I,m sure many other fans be most grateful to finally have a dvd print that we can finally watch without cringing at the vocal experience.

Dogma: Extended Edition (with deleted scenes back in, and/or the 3-hour initial cut)
Mallrats: ABC Cut

And for Clerks II, I'd rather see a whole re-edit to make it, well, more Clerks-like. Some of the deleted stuff would've worked well back in the flick, and the removal of stupid shit like the overdone donkey show, reducing the painfully annoying new male fast food store character, and some of the awful, unfunny bits throughout. And why do the deleted scenes have title cards throughout, but the movie itself doesn't? Just another reason for a retool.

I have been thinking of doing such an edit. But first I have to finish my T3 NTSC project. I'm not sure if I'm gonna commit myself to the extened edit of Jay & Silent Bob.

Same Make. Same Model. New Mission.

Here's a thread with an enteresting request
James Bond re-edit suggestions....

Basicly, Batman Beyond suggests someone could take the black and white-1958(or something, don't remember) version of CASINO ROYALE and re-edit it into a prequel to DR. NO. Also, he suggests the Pierce Brosnan film TAILOR OF PANAMA to be re-edited into into a Bond prequel to the Dalton and Brosnan Bond movies. I understand his reasoning, as I share it somewhat. For I believe that while Moore can somewhat convince that he's the same Bond as Connery and Lazenby (even if his performance doesn't suggest so), Dalton and Brosnan are too young themselves to convince at that. So I suggest a prequel for their era that introduces Bond, but not in the filmic Bond sense - thats why I thought it'd be interesting to search for a film that has either Dalton or Brosnan played a Bond-like figure, to introduce their character.

And the opinion of turning the EON game (Everything of Nothing) into a movie, has also been expressed in the same thread. And that'd be nice too, I think.

I hope Batman Beyond doesn't mind I posted this here.

What do you all say?
I love Batman.

Following on from the KOTOR thread, can I put out a request for movie versions of the Indiana Jones games.

This suggestion seemed to generate some positive responses in that thread so I am clearly not the only one who would love to see this.

Awesome, I haven't seen this since it aired-- I thought I taped it at the time, but it must've gotten lost along the way. It's a hilarious edit, and the bad voiceover work of Jay's lines alone is worth it. Never knew of/saw dailies, but that would definitely be a cool addition to a project.

Mallrats: The Smell of Commerce Edition
Mallrats For Kids Edition
Mallrats: Sanitized Edition
Mallrats: PG Version

or just Mallrats: The ABC Cut (all the cutesy titles lately are getting a bit tiring...)

Hey,

The new film "ROCKY BALBOA" is ariving soon, and so far reviews and word of mouth is that this ROCKY is going to be a KNOCK OUT.

I was thinking about how kewl it would be if someone here was able to edit Rocky 2, 3, 4, and 5 into one big movie that would bridge the original Rocky and this new film.
