I can't link to it anymore, but a while back they removed SW:R from their database because he was profiting from it by requesting donations.
Yeah.
And I see what you did there, Bingo. I wish I could deny it. ;-)

Yeah, there was something about fanedit and get a free hard drive, software blah blah blah..
This may be my favorite thread.... Oh, and not long ago I posted a new edit.... And then my IP address on my phone was blocked.. Wasn't sure a phone had one of those. Anyway, it amused me. It also amuses me that he thinks one can't beat an IP block. I have several times to go back occasionally and seek ACTUAL answers for my banning.
I think we all know what the actual reasons for the bans are.
A part of me is tempted to join their board, and make a single post that says "hi!", just to see if that gets me banned based on my being an active member here.

It would as soon as "anders" read it.

THIS has to be the saddest/strangest part of all. What other rodent-themed juvenile turf-protecting can they do?

Yeh, it was this thread:
http://digital-fanedits.com/index.php/Forum/Star-Wars/135-quotStar-Wars-Revisitedquot-removed-for-violating-financial-conduct/
It had nothing to do with me receiving donations at all. Anti-Splatter had a problem with me just because i questioned him when he deleted his posts. He doesn't like anyone questioning him because he thinks he is the god of all fan editors. He probably thinks he even invented the genre. You only have to look at that site to see how much people have to kiss his ass to have the "privilege" of not getting banned. Dare to give a bad review of one of his edits and you're out of there. Most of the edits reviewed there are his. Their membership isn't exactly growing at a decent rate now is it.

Ady, that's not fair... They have a steady stream of 6 posters now.
Vflix's articles are really fun reads.

Star Trek: TMP Warp Re-Edit
Written by VFlix Monday, 29 March 2010 I recently had the privilege of viewing the second project by our very own editing master, Anti-Matter. I would like to propose that this technically is his first fan-edit because it comes on the heels of what is arguably the boldest editing endeavor ever to be conceived, executed and then successfully delivered to the fanedit community. His Star Wars Prologue was, in my thinking, more an opus than an edit.
Do you mind?
I was eating a chocolate mousse.
Are you almost done with this mouse gag?
I'm amazed at how much work a few people there are putting into the site, only to ban everyone. I'm involved in an NSF-funded project, part of which is attempting to get a forum going, and it's not easy to catch that critical mass (kudos to OT.com!)... the last thing we'd consider doing is ban someone just because they also like something else.

No.
It kind of started here with an innocent discussion of killing mice in your house, but seems to have morphed into Bingo making a bunch of posts about fried mice or something or other.

With all respect to fan-editing as both a hobby and an artform, and with much love to the work of Adywan, TMBTM, Jorge, Phantom Editor, and everyone else whose work I have enjoyed, does this level of sycophancy boggle anyone elses mind?
I try to get my head around what kind of person this VFlix must be in everyday life. My first two thoughts are he's 13, or he's actually Anti-Matter.
EDIT: I haven't seen Anti-Matter's edits. They could very well be extremely good. I'm just commenting on the tone of VFlix's "reviews."

First off, hotlink fail. And secondly, if you weren't doing a bit about the whole mouse thing, then what was the point of your comment?

Ah...I see. Your humor is not always entirely graspable.
Moving on...

I confess I've had the same thought before. However, I doubt he's really Anti-Matter. I mean, no one could be that desperate for praise, right?
Right?
You are one of the most important, vital and creative contributors to the field of Fan-Editing and the internet as a whole so surely the answer to that question is on the tip of your tongue.

I saw that edit a while back.
It was Shit.
He's fairly okay with visuals, but is really choppy when it comes to sound editing.

That mirrors some of my impressions of his prologue edit. Effects-wise, it was cool, but the rest seemed all slapped together. I wish someone would post the ending on youtube... It would spawn it's own thread all by itself.
