I am thinking about buying the 2 Ewok movies on bootleg DVD. Are there mutiple version of these like the Star Wars ones and if so which one is the “best” encode/transfer from the LDs.

Does Lucas ever plan to release these on DVD by the way?

Sorry to bring up bootlegs, but these are not for sale on DVD and are out of print on other formats (not that I want them on those formats anyway).

I've heard rumors about a DVD release of the Ewok movies, but it was a long time ago. Anyway, I'd expect then to be released after episode 3 and the ultimate editions, so they can cash in some more.

I truly doubt it would be a cash cow. I, too, think there was only one version of these. Not enough popularity to warrant someone going out and doing a Phantom Edit, per se.

Someone would buy it. I wouldn't buy it, but I would rent it. They would sell a lot of copies if they had something like "George Lucas approved Star Wars Expanded Universe movie!!" on the cover.

That would be nice, because I've only seen about 15 minutes of the first Ewok movie, about 10-15 years ago. I'd like to watch them again so I can decide if they are EU or not. So far, I say they are.

Motti, he said "all of that material" which I would assume to mean all the material related to the Ewoks and Droids movies and TV series and whatnot. Unfortunately, the way he said it doesn't really include the OT. Damn.

I saw a movie called "Caravan of Courage" many, many years ago. In fact the title is about the only thing I can remember about it. Is that one of the films you're talking about? From memory (which as I said is vague at best) it was really a childrens film, and the "human" characters were adolescents. I wouldn't mind seeing bits of it again though, just for old times sake.

I've seen both movies multiple times. I remember I was really bummed out the first time I saw 'Battle for Endor'. They killed off 3 of the 4 human characters.

I'd lvoe to see all of them (the 2 movies and the 2 TV shows) on DVD, not necessarily because I liked them, but more because I'd enjoy remembering more about when I wanted them.

There were only the two television shows - BUT in Europe they showed them as 'movies' in actual movie theaters!

The Ewok Adventure - this was the first made for TV Ewok movie in Europe it was called 'Caravan of Courage- An ewok Adventure'
The Battle for Endor - was the sequel of the first movie it was also called 'The Battle for Endor'
