Does anyone know where to find the 1999 CD release of the soundtrack for the ewok films?

Wow! Thanks, but how do you play a .rar file? Also, where did you find a copy of the CD?

rar is a compression format like zip. download winrar and then un-rar the files.

For those who asked, you'll need a program like WinRAR to open the rar files, which you can download from rarlab.com
I'm also told Quickzip and Stuffit will do the job. (A Rar file is just another compression format, and a common alternative to zip files)

As for where I got hold of a copy, originally I found a version on the edonkey network, although the one I posted is a better quality version that came from a torrent sometime back. I think it was from oink.me.uk or demonoid...

I meant an original copy by the way, where can you find one?

A quick google search returned this page for some higher-res ewok cd covers. It isn’t the ‘official bootleg CD’ (if that’s not a contradiction) artwork, but looks like a fanmade alternative.

EDIT: Update - a slightly harder google search found this rather good Rare Soundtracks site - if you look in the cd covers section, then follow the John Williams link you’ll find these quality scans of the proper cd artwork:

Front
Back
Front 2
Inlay
Inside

The rest of the site is worth checking out too…

Whoa! Thanks for looking. So, the actual CD itself (even the one sold on eBay) is a bootleg of an actual CD or something?

Many soundtrack websites I've looked at refer to it as a bootleg CD, produced in Singapore. From what I can tell, this is the only CD version of the Ewoks soundtrack produced, and the only official version of a Ewok soundtrack looks to be an LP version released in the mid 80's. So the assumption is that the CD is a bootleg of that LP, although I've not read anything that states that explicitly. Need to do a bit more research I think.

That would help, I've been working on a page on Wikipedia about it.

There looks to be an even higher quality version of the Ewoks soundtracks on the edonkey network - "(ScoR$ese-031) Peter Bernstein - The Ewoks (1985) (320kbs + Cover).rar" at 165MB - currently trying to download it, but its taking a while.

If and when I get it, I'll try and post it. Just don't hold your breath, as I think this ones going to take a while.

So, your computer doesn't like bittorrent nor rapidshare? Whoa, what's up?

Hoichi, I'd love to help you, but unfortunately I've never been able to successfully upload anything yousendit. You could say I'm suffering from the opposite problem to you. However, I might have a crack at uploading to megaupload, or someone who's already downloaded it could maybe try uploading it to yousendit.

Alternatively, you could try the rapidshare links run through an online translator such as altavistas babelfish or similar - effectively rerouting the weblink and using the translator site as a proxy - I've used this trick in the past to succesfully access a few sites my ISP had problems with, and it might get around whatever restrictions are on your system.
