Evil Dead 2 (1987) - 35MM Preservation opportunity (a WIP)

I’m currently in the process of purchasing a 35MM theatrical print of the film Evil Dead 2 available for sale here

The full price needed to purchase this is $1500 with the shipping costs being covered out of my own pocket. I currently have $700 that I was able to raise from donations from some dedicated Evil Dead fans who are interested in seeing this project happen, but it’ll take a while longer to raise the rest of it on my own to have it purchased and scanned. If your also interested in seeing this project happen go ahead and send me a PM with any amount that your willing to donate. Hopefully we can make this happen as I’ll be doing some restoration work on the print myself.

If enough funds can be raised to help purchase this I will post an update on the scanning costs and we can go from there.

whats the runtime compared to the spanish fanedit one? I am willing to donate 5$ though

From their website, it also seems like their print for The Matrix was the one used for the copy we currently have online. The placement of those vertical lines looks familiar…

We’ve reached $1100! Out of my own pocket I put in some money with the donations from you guys and from other Evil dead fans. We’re just $400 away from purchasing this but I can’t do it on my own anymore. I’ll need your guys help in making this happen. Any amount you can spare will be greatly appreciated.

How does this compare to Book of the Dead 2?
