Idea: 'Escape from L.A.' - a fan edit - isolating tracks for better audio?

Hi. Just discovered this forum, love it. This may be a dumb question, but does anyone have advice for isolating dialogue? I had to get final cut pro for work, and it was so friggin expensive, I’d like to get as much use out of it as possible. I’ve been wanting to attempt an alternate version of Escape from L.A. using the infinitely better music from New York (just got the soundtrack). Is this even feasible? Any words of wisdom is appreciated.

Why not just watch Escape from New York? It's the same film anyway, just done better. ^_^

I know there's a way though. It might be interesting to see the results. You might want to check the "How To" forum.

And with Escape from NY you can add the lost opening scene. The Special Edition soundtrack has unreleased music from that scene as well.
