I posted this one in the other bluray cover thread. It’s meant up match the look of the custom bluray set I’m working on for episodes 1-6, but could be used independently obviously.
So I now own a copy of Star Wars TFA (just the basic one, no special edition cover) and I have to say I’m somewhat disappointed. It looks very modern and basic and lacks the words “Episode VII” which has baffled me since it was also left out in virtually all promotion material. The cover would really stand out next to all the other Star Wars movies and I figured this could be a topic that compiles the TFA covers. I plan on making one at my leisure. I’m mostly after a cover that would fit in with other standard DVDs/Blu “Rey”.

I think the special features are technically disc 2, at least that’s how it’s laid out in the steelbook.
I designed that before the bluray was released so yeah haha. Either way the discs don’t have numbers on them so it doesn’t really matter I guess.

I made these inspired by Ron W Lim’s art he created for Harmy’s Despecialized editions. Seeing as I currently have TFA sitting next to both my Star Wars Complete Saga box set and my copies of the Despecialized edition with Ron’s art, I decided to make these covers to match the aesthetic of his art. I personally use the first version insert. The insert inside image is from the textless version of one of the IMAX posters for the film.
NOTE: These were made with the Criterion Collection clear cases in mind, which can be found here -> https://www.criterion.com/shop_products/91-clear-blu-ray-case-5-pack

All nice art. May print some to replace the Target BR version. Since slipping those discs is rather hard with the cardstock style case.

Marketing the episode number wasn’t really a thing until the prequel era. Pretty brilliant marketing done to make you feel that you really haven’t seen the complete story yet.
Anybody know where to get high res screen caps of the film. I keep seeing the same variations of the trailer and want some better material. I’m mostly after good Kylo Ren, Stormtrooper, and Tie Fighters but anything will do. Preferably from the actual Blu Ray release and not shots of the screen.

I want a DVD cover that matches up to the old DVDs. I like to take the DVD out of the BD case and put it in its own DVD case. Anyway, I’d like a TFA cover that mmatchs the 1-6 DVDs with a large “VII” behind “Star Wars” and small print “The Force Awakens” underneath. You know, like this:

How the hell do you post images here now?
I’m not sure how to post images but I planned on making a cover to match the 2004 and 2006 DVD releases but I’ve got some other little thing to try first.

Here’s my cover for The Force Awakens which is designed like my previous covers. These are for Criterion cases.

Hi,
In celebration of the UK release of The Force Awakens on Blu-Ray, I have made a cover using a fan-made poster by Blake Armstrong. Feedback would be appreciated.

PM me for a full size download.
What do you think the color scheme for this episode would be. The VHS releases of the saga as well as the 2004 and 2006 DVD releases had the prequel trilogy in warm colors, particularly reds and oranges. While the Original Trilogy was colder, blues and silver, etc. What would this trilogy be. As of now I find that warm colors look good on most posters.
Edit: Also what is the font used on the covers for the episode names. I’d also be open to any font that looks natural next to the Star Wars logo.

Made this for my personal collection let me know what y’all think.
I’m currently working on something that’s going to incorporate The Indiana Jones blu ray book set design, but I’m going to make 3 of them, one for each trilogy. I’m using the Yoda and Vader front covers for the design of the Prequel and Original Trilogy, and I’m currently working on the sequel trilogy front cover design using Kylo Ren. I ordered all the materials, but still waiting on one more thing. Once I put it all together, I will post it on here for everyone to see.
So far, the design is looking great. I have a couple of more things to finish, also, I’m waiting for some official Episode VIII pics as well, before I complete it. I might throw in a pic of Luke from the teaser, just so I can wrap it up. Unfortunately, I have a few long days at work next week, so I might have to postpone working on it until Friday.

I edited this one and I think it came out pretty nice. It is in keeping with the previous DVD releases too.
Nice photoshop and work in all but the 2004 and 2006 DVDs I thought had absolutely terrible art.

here’s a link to my saga DVD cover custom. the back portion of the cover i did not make, I found it from another custom and really liked it so i wanted to use it. I tried to match up the spine size as much as I could with the original saga DVD’s so printing it and having it match properly shouldn’t be a problem. The front isn’t perfect and it was the best I could do so if anyone wants to clean it up feel free to and let me know, i’d love to see what you come up with. I didn’t put any 20th century fox logos because I imagined how Disney would distribute this while looking like the saga covers. let me know your thoughts, thanks.
