No, they're plasma swords. =P
No, they're plasma swords. =P
IIRC, the EU established long ago blaster bolts aren't lasers. Tibanna gas or something?
Where were you in '77?
Something I saw that reminded me of RicRollie.
The Monkey King - Uproar In heaven (1965) Restoration/Preservation Project
Nezha Conquers the Dragon King (1979) BBC 1.66:1 & Theatrical 2.35:1 preservations
Real lasers? Ah, then let me just flick this switch..what the? No recoil?? Pah!..
Could mean something that evolved out of lasers and then the word stuck... like how pencil leads aren't made of lead and how tin cans aren't made of tin.
Or how blueprints are no longer blue.
Or how most blackboards are green.
Or how most white supremacists are pinkish brown.
Or how French fries didn't originate in France.
Or how Bingowings' sister cooks the best quiche.
A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.
I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!

Well she used to... but that's clinical depression for you.

I'm sorry to hear that, Bingo. :o(

Well I guess I'm too late to make an "or" joke.

[sigh] still the greatest poster ever made. everything you could every want to know about what this flick did in 1977 and how it captured the imagination of an entire generation - this poster has it. Just perfect. especially how the droids are in the corner looking at luke and leia.
just perfect.
now all we got are crap giant head posters and blu ray covers.
anyway, back on topic. 'pparently they are really hitting us over the head with the whole 'we're using pratical models and sets' now bob iger is getting into the act talking about the amusment parks they are making based on the ST.

You make it sound as if the two are mutually exclusive. =P
On the plus side, Luke & Leia would look like Luke & Leia on a modern poster

I concur. It's no wonder a certain surprise hit movie inspired this fan made poster.
I am so crossing my fingers and toes that they build a Star Wars theme park out where I own some Florida swampland. I won't sell unless they release the OOT though. ;)

Yeah! Scoop necklines, lotsa gams, and pecs pecs pecs 'til next Tuesday!
...oh wait, Star Wars had none of those things.
Sorry but that poster is utter crap. The real classic was the one with Luke pointing the blaster at the viewer, surrounded by the other characters. The one above is the square-peg-round-hole weird incongruous exploitation misstep.
I'm pretty sure there was a scoop neckline in the last scene.

Seriously? Utter Crap? I couldn't disagree more. This poster by Tom Jung is one of the coolest, and most iconic movie posters in Hollywood history. It's the perfect style for a 1970's swashbuckling, space fantasy movie.
If only they still made movie posters this good...

"Now you're gonna get it, bitch!"
The real classic is the poster for The Ricdiculous Menace.
