TELL THAT TO DAYV PLEASE :P

Where the hell did DAYV go anyway?

A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.

I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!

But what about contradictions between the two trilogies?

It's less a case of "contradictions" and more one of "wholesale incompatibility".

George hasn't seen the trailer yet:

George Lucas said:

I don’t know anything about it. I haven’t seen it yet because it’s not in the movie theater. I like going to the movies and watching the whole thing there.

For those that worried he was still involved. He wrote a general story outline for the next three films and then handed it off to Kathleen. He put Kathleen Kennedy in charge so he wouldn't have to deal with Star Wars anymore.

In fact, while he said he plans to see the new film when its released; when asked if he was interested to see J.J.'s take on Star Wars his response was:

George Lucas said:

Not really.

Right now he's more concerned with securing the land for his proposed museum and has been fighting a federal lawsuit over it.

He left Kathleen Kennedy in charge because he trusts her judgement. She's the one running the show now.

LOL. I wouldn't have expected any less (or more, for that matter).

At this point in his life, he must be happy to not have the entirety of Star Wars resting on his shoulders anymore. Love or hate what he's done with it in recent years, it's lonely at the top.

I'm not going anywhere near that source.  Not even with rubber gloves.  Not even on my fingers.

If that poster is a fake, it's a darn good one. Luke has his ROTJ saber too.

BBC interview with Comedian Phill Jupitus about his views on the new Star Wars Film/Teaser/Prequels. This bit was interesting and encouraging to hear...

"I met an effects bloke in Essex, he drinks in my local coffee shop. He said [the makers of the new film] bought every gas-bottled air gun in England when they arrived because they wanted the Stormtroopers' guns to have a kick when they fired them. You don't have to fake it; it looks real"

VIZ TOP TIPS! - PARENTS. Impress your children by showing them a floppy disk and telling them it’s a 3D model of a save icon.

Yes because "real" lasers have so very much recoil...

Imaginary lasers have imaginary recoil but at no point should the lasers or their recoil appear to be imaginary.

The blasters in the original trilogy were mostly real working guns that shot blanks, so that there would be muzzle flash and smoke.

You can see that in behind-the-scenes footage, blooper reels, deleted scenes without effects, etc. ANH, ESB and ROTJ.

This includes the Stormtrooper blasters, Han's, Leia's and Luke's blasters, and only shot (no pun intended) at Elstree. The Rebel blasters and blasters used on location outside the UK were casts or built from gun replicas.

Given that these are blasters, not lasers...

And I suppose "lightsabers" are completely NOT "laser swords," too?
