Keep this up and you just might.
Aboout Anikan's vision in Padme's apartment, I have tried just using the dream part up until the part where Anikan comes out of the dream and lowers the data pad then wiping to another scene before he looks up at Padme'.

How does that seem to work? What throws me off is that Anakin had just been with Obi-Wan, and they shared a lot of scene time with the Council and Farewell scenes. There never seemed to be a cinematic hint that Obi-Wan might be visiting Padme without Anakin's knowledge.

Not to mention the fact that the vision doesn't seem to be tied well visually to Anakin siting on the couch in Padme's apartment. Until then, Anakin's visions had only been in his dreams (right?). This new development should have been made important with a close-up on Anakin's eyes maybe.

I agree that the vision in Padme's apartment is kind of disjointed from the scene it is in compared to the other visions.

And about when Obi-Wan took time to visit Padme. This was a storyline that was filmed but got cut. In a deleted scene Obi-Wan visits Padme and talks to her about Anikan. He discusses his concerns about Anikan's growing anger and frustration and how Anikan is changing and Obi-Wan asks her if she will talk to Ankan and try to figure out what is going on with him. Then Palpatine later on tells Anikan of Obi-wan's frequent visits to Padme's apartment, and tells Anikan that she is working with the Jedi and can not be trusted. This turns Anikan against Padme, and causes him to not trust her. But George felt this storyline was not as important as Anikan's dreams being the reason why he turns so he cut the entire subplot. You can see footage of the deleted scene of Obi-Wan visiting Padme in the production diaries on disc 2 of the ROTS dvd.

This is very exciting news. Is the scene complete? Or is it a behind-the-scenes look?

Edit: I just scanned through the "Web Documentaries" bonus materials, and I saw a bit of one cut scene between Padme and Obi-Wan where he greets her with kisses, but there was no dialogue. Is this the scene? Is there more that you've found?

It is a behind the scenes look, and only shows them filming it. See what they show is them filming the scene and Anthony Daniels in full C3-P0 garb is walking off screen and he trips on a table and falls to the floor. George then yells cut and everyone starts laughing. You don't actually see the scene play out, but it does show you that the scene was filmed.

Oh, okay. Bummer. Wish they would've included that as an official deleted scene. Probably would've been a boon for fan edits. Thanks for the info.

Hi, y'all!

Sorry for the apparent lack of progress, I've been rather busy with school exams and such. However, I do have some news for those of you who are interested in this project. I finally found the time to watch my edit from start to finish, and am, unfortunately, not satisfied with the end result.

While the first and third acts of the film work great, the second one does not. Some scenes are too short, and things move by a bit too rapidly. On the other hand, the inclusion of the "Plot to destroy the Jedi" scene works even better than I had originally anticipated, as it makes Anakin's turn much more plausible.

I also discovered that Marvolo was right all along about the scene in Padme's apartment. It does feel out of place. I still haven't figured out what to do with it, as I'd rather not remove it outright, although it does at the very least need some trimming to make it work.

Instead of trying to salvage the current version of the edit, I think I'll start from scratch, duplicating the parts that work and figure out something new for the parts that don't.

As I said, I'm rather busy with other things at the moment, so I don't know when I'll get this done, but I'll try to keep you guys updated.

A way to slow down the pace of your edit would be to add the Birth of the Rebellion scenes. They give Padme something to do, and make her seem like an actual character of the story rather than a glorified extra.

Sorry to hear that the overall edit didn't please. If Marvolo's suggestion of including the "Birth of the Rebellion" scenes would fit, it would be nice to make Padme more of the substantial character she should be.

Wishing you the best on your exams! Can't wait to hear more about your project!

Yes, I've thought about adding those scenes as well. I don't think they're particularly good scenes, but I'll see what can be done with them. They might be just what this edit needs, as they help slow the pace and give even more volume to the whole conspiracy agianst Palpatine that's going on and thus making Anakin's turn more believable. I'll definately see what can be done with them.
