I just checked and yes, you are in the credits Zig. I think Friday was my idea, and I think I had already put in the Oh hai before you suggested it, so it must have been something else. Feel free to read through the entire thread to figure it out ;-)
Well, I stand corrected. Zig suggested putting a Tommy Wiseau line in the edit which became "oh hai." So there you go.

How long are you giving us to send in our workprint reviews and such? I don't remember that being mentioned.
Theoretically as long as you need - you guys are doing me a favor, after all. Having said that, I'd like to release it by the end of this month, and I'll probably need a few weeks to make pickups, so within the next two weeks would be ideal.
Oh, and I got another comment about the crawl length last night. I'm considering cutting out some of the lines and the first song, which would make it roughly 1/3 shorter.

I think those other scenes need shotenin' (shortenin' shortenin') but if I could only pick one, it would be the opening crawl. I still think the VHS Fast-Forward would be good.

Perhaps, but I want to keep the second and third songs in. The third song has to stay anyway, as it was suggested by my wife ;-)
I'll probably remove some of the duplicate names, the lesser known names, and maybe the Ani parent thing OO5 suggested. Have to mull that one over.
Folks, is there something wrong with me if this is the fanedit I look forward the most?
I have only seen the youtube vids, but I would say the Senate recognizing scene is really a drag. Either that or I just didn't get it :)
I can look at the Senate scene again. No guarantees though.

I'm trying to think of what to call this, because my friend thinks it's an attempt to rip on TPM, in vein with a RedLetterMedia review or something.
I know Frink has a genuine affection for TPM, so it's not that. I was trying to think of how this got started... and this is what I came to.
It's sort of a Parody of fan edits. Instead of trying to remove/add things that improve the experience... it's intentionally adding/removing things that make the experience... a parody. I was going to say bad, but that's not it exactly. It's sort of intentionally bad for comedic effect, which is not the same thing as 'bad'.
I think of Adywan's Revisited effort as "The Special Editions Done Right" and I think of George's SE effort as "The Special Editions Done... " (I can't finish that sentence.)
So... to sum: TRM: A Special Edition Gone Horribly, Horribly, Right

It could a parody of the Radial Edit threads, in order to make some of the changes they suggest, you'd have to cut it apart like Frink has...

The "Worst Edit Ideas" thread here got me semi-interested in the eventual idea for TRM, but at the time I hadn't a clue how to edit, no editing software, etc.

As far as what to call this, I don't know. I don't usually worry about categorizing things. AEmovieguy called his idea a "Parody/Comedy Cut," which seems reasonable for TRM too.
But I think a "ridiculous cut" works fine as well.
