Nice. I wonder what other little changes to the prequels we can expect in 2007?

I too wonder, anything involving Mr. Binks? Yoda an improvement..

Now, if only he would do the same for the ESB and ROTJ Yoda!

Isn't this a Hyperspace thing? Um...is it okay to repost it?

While I don't mind them changing the Yoda in Ep. 1, and do think it looks better than the poor-quality puppet they used, it concerns me because it isn't too far from just going ahead and changing Yoda to the same CGI model in ESB and ROTJ. That would be needless and very bad.

Ive have been some U.K DVD sites and on the 5th December, a prequel boxset has been scheduled and available to order... I wonder that Yoda is included on that release, no news officially or on any U.S sites...

I'm embarrassed to admit this is a change I don't mind. What boggles me is how with all the reference material they had at their disposal, Episode I Yoda came out looking so hideous. I know Stuart Freeborn is likely retired, but how hard would it have been to bring him in to consult?

Complaining about changing the shit puppet to a more accurate CGI rendering is hardly something to "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO" about, since everyone and their mom has been bitching about the puppet since the first trailer hit.

And to quell any worries, Coleman and Lucas have stated numerous times beforehand they are NOT touching the Yoda in Episodes 5 and 6. Will not happen. Nope. Nada. Even if you want it to happen just so you can shoot a couple more arrows ILM's way, it's not gonna happen

You mean Yoda won't be toking it up anymore and look stoned all the time in Episode I?

Exactly.

Was there ever an official excuse for why it looked like a muppet reject who just smoked a blunt? Seemed like it should've been one of the only things in that movie that actually worked.

No need to be embarrassed when it did look hideous.

Why? Unless you want Lucas to top Hayden in ROTJ for Most Pointless OT Change Yet.
We don't have enough road to get up to 88.

Because he looks more realistic as CG, than as a puppet. Translation: I want him to top Hayden

I just wish he'd stop changing any of his movies. The Episode I Yoda is good enough. And those of us bitching that the OOT isn't being released shouldn't be happy that the theatrical releases of the prequels aren't available on DVD as well. It's so hypocritical. And this is the most blatant change yet. Just leave the movies alone, George!

Sorry, but, with all due respect, hush.

I'd better go ahead and buy the Episode I DVD (I only have it on VHS) before they make this idiotic change.

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

I used to support all of Lucas changes but now only support changes if there good ones, but Lucas changes range from the sublime to the ridiclous, and some look 10 minute cut and paste jobs, but surely one day Lucas must say enough is enough I cant keeping changing things..

I too wish Lucas would release the originals, but I unfortuantely feel hell has more chance of freezing over before that happpens

I do like the new TPM Yoda he is an improvement over the TPM one he was a disaster, Now for the next worthwhile change on TPM Jar Jar made less annoying...

Maybe they couldn't use Yoda's true image due to legal reasons? That's the ONLY explanation!
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

He just looks so much more serious as CG. That's why I want CG Yoda in ESB and ROTJ.

No, it isn't. Adam or Jay should do something about that before LFL finds their way here and goes on a rampage.

That said, I like the Digital Yoda. Not that I ever really had a problem with the old one, but this makes things more consistant across the trilogy.

I don't like that Hayden is in ROTJ either. That being said, I think that if GL was going to put Hayden in ROTJ, he should have also replaced Puppet Yoda with Digital Yoda and Sir Alec Guinness with Ewan McGregor. (I know, that almost sounds blasphemous, but at least it's consistent.)

I like Digital Yoda better, too, for Ep1 anyway. Leave Frank Oz's performance in the OT.
