Help Wanted: Editing DVD's

Hi guys

I’m looking for some help regarding editing a DVD to better suit ‘my vision’.

I am particularly interested in hearing from people who have made their own edits of DVD’s, ie Magnolifan.

What is the easiest software to use?

Also, is there any way to isolate audio when there is music and dialogue playing at once? For example, I want my edit to cut between two sections of dialogue (ie removing some dialogue completely) but the soundtrack needs to remain in the background ‘uncut’.

Help me originaltrilogy.com! You’re my only hope!

In regards to the audio problem, you could try getting the music from another source, like a soundtrack cd and lay it down, then put the changed dialogue over the top. It's just a thought, I actually have never edited anything before (although I am going to try when I mess around with these official Star Wars DVDs).
I also don't know much about editing software, but I think a fairly professional one is Adobe Director.
Sure, I could have stayed in the past. I could have even been king. But in my own way, I am king.
Hail to the king, baby.

Thanks man I thought of doing that, however the dialogue already has music behind it! I want to remove one from the other if its possible.

If it's 5.1 you could extract the center channel for dialogue.

Gentlemen, you can’t fight in here, this is the war room!
