Ben in Star Wars

In Star Wars, Ben says "If you strike me down I shall become more powerful than you possibly imagine." I don't what he specifically meant. can someone tell me what he means by it.

i always thought it meant he woul be able to help luke better that way, as he did guide him in blowing up the death star, other than that i do not know

I think he jsut siad that so Vader would kill him so he could help Luke but not physicaly

Exactly. He meant that if Vader struck him down, he would no longer be accessable by Vader, and could reach Luke any time he wanted, in order to help and guide him. That is exactly why Yoda and Qui-Gon trained Obi-Wan on Tatooine between ROTS and ANH, so as to prepare Obi-Wan for the training of Luke.

Because he WOULD be more powerful. Obi-Wan knew that if he died, he would be more closely connected with the force. He would remain the same person with the same powers of a Jedi, yet Darth Vader would never be able to touch him. Plus, now he could never stop him from connecting with Luke and guiding him in the ways of the force.

If it took training for Obi-Wan during his solitude on Tatooine, how come Anakin could do it right away?

Because he was the blahbbity blahbbity chosen one blah blah. And we don't really know how long it took Ben to figure it out. Vader had at least four years to work it out.
